FAKE NEWS! (Sorry, I know to do a full Trump I should have tweeted that but I don't do social media)

Can't see that's its been already linked and discussed, but I've Copied the handful of Q's that Ross responded to for the AFL's Ask The Coach Q&A on facebook on Thursday.

Lot of unfiltered posts that get ignored, and too many people trolling to sift through, including this one:
Tommy Sheridan What's your thoughts on wearing Hats backwards at training? (Brad Hill likes)

SOURCE:

Daniel Aynsley Hey Ross, with the disappointing year last year we found out how good some new up and coming players are, particularly Lachie Weller and Connor Blakely, how do you see them fitting in to the side for 2017 ?

Lachie Weller finished off the year at half back and gave us great run and distribution across half back. Connor Blakely is having a strong summer as a big inside mid.

Max Bird Hey Ross, how is last years draftee, Harley Balic shaping up this pre-season, a chance for senior action this year?

Giving himself every opportunity. He's a really hard trainer and settling well into Perth.

Dongquan Van Nguyen How will the team adjust to not having Matthew Pavlich in the side for the first time in a long time?

Matthew drew the ball consistently so there'll be more opportunity for everybody without him there

Gabriel Grossman Hi Ross, There's a lot of interest in Harley Bennell this preseason. I think he will add a lot to the side once fit. Do you see him being ready for round 1 at this stage and is your plan to play him mostly in the midfield?

He won't be available for round one but his rehab is progressing well, particularly post Germany. We expect to see him, if all goes to plan, in the early rounds.

Steph Patino Hi Ross will the number 29 be retired forever? Also is David Mundy still captain!

That decision (retiring number 29) is above my station.

Liam Romaro
When is the leadership group going to be announced for this season?
Is Walters a chance for surprise captain? (This gets a thumbs up facebook like)

By the end of the month

You missed one question

Big Animal Do you prefer your Sailor Jerry's with Ginger ale or Coke?

Before training I like my Jerry's with Coke for the caffeine hit. After training I will relax with a Jerry's in Matso's Ginger Beer with a slice of lime. Thanks for asking. You're very astute Big Animal.

Didn't particularly like the twee Hird reference to end but overall a good enjoyable read.

The big bit was when he said he wouldn't have survived the injury and innuendo himself as a player.
It's clear Harley's approach 'has been phenomenal'.

We are lucky to have a coach like RTB. Love the fact he has the balls to call these gossipy, bigoted media clowns out on the Harley stuff.

Bravo Ross, I raise my Sailor Jerry & Dry to you sir.

Stupid comments by Lyon playing the race card. The reason people suspect a drug problem is because it's a player who's been previously caught using drugs. Nothing to do with race.

As if there wouldn't be rumours if it was the same situation but instead the rumours surrounding someone like Dustin Martin or Dane Swan.
You don't think some people stereotype Aboriginal players? You must live in a different society & follow a different game than me...

There are plenty of players who have had an indiscretions with alcohol or drugs over their career but not all of them have to put up with the sort of tabloidy stuff Harley is copping at the moment. He's injured- there's nothing whatsoever to suggest otherwise yet these clowns in the media want to go down this path anyway.

I think the comments are out of frustration. It appears that Harley is doing everything asked of him and he is being bombarded with rumours of drug and alcohol abuse.

Ross goes off you very quickly if you are not putting in, I know that there is a very nasty campaign against Harley and a lot of that comes from the eastern states media who have always found non Victorian teams and players an easy target.

Is it racial? Don't know, but I would be surprised if the racists amongst us are not playing their part in the rumours.

What I do know is that the "rumour" which have been continuous and so "strong" has to this point been without foundation, but unfortunately Harley is just going to have to suck it up, nothing he can say will prevent or stop these rumours.

Ross likes a bit of aggro-vexatious:

"Here campaigner let's see if we can rub your face in some unprovable, maybe baseless, maybe malicious, but plausible filthy rumour and we'll keep saying it 'til plenty believe it;very ugly and damaging if true, type of accusation you snivelling piece of rat dung.
I seem to remember you did it to Harley!"

"No I most certainly did not intend for Slobbo and Doghorn to be implicated....the hat may fit however."

How'dya like them onions campaigner??
No need to thank me I'm just warming up.

There was a discussion re Harley on SEN between Waldron and Bartlett. It was a true or false segment and Waldron asked true or false is Bennell one of the worst trades in AFL history with what Freo gave up and the minimal chance of him getting on the park thru injury or what ever . Bartletts answer was yes. They both obviously forgot about the Yarran trade to Richmond.

Obviously a couple of Victorian campaigners know more about Bennell's prospects of playing than our club.

I doubt Hungry even knows what's going on at Richmond let alone Freo.

I heard it as well. Waldron went on to suggest that it was more than a calf keeping Harley out, specifically off field issues......definition of campaigner.

You don't think some people stereotype Aboriginal players?

Definitely, but not necessarily as drug users. Harley is suffering these rumours because he's been done for drugs previously, nothing more than that.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ichael-Hunt-admitted-wild-cocaine-binges.html

There have been hundreds of drug rumours about AFL players of all colours, so Ross Lyon's assertion that this only happens to aboriginal players is simply bullshit. Lots of AFL players have reps as party boys, and drug rumours surface on a regular basis.

Was Harley ever charged with drug taking?

Have a think about how Cousins was treated by the media after being outed as an addict. Not someone who had the odd line (which many players are apparently prone to) but a full blown addict who went to rehab & is still battling addiction and publicly disintegrating.
He was treated as a hero (We applaud what you have overcome) and given the benefit of the doubt time after time.
He had to basically become an out of control derro before the sycophants finally started admitting he was in trouble.
This despite that half of Perth knew he was an addict before he even won a premiership medal. I had a friend who was an Eagles member and former WAFL footballer tell me (well over a year before he was outed) that it was common knowledge Cousins associated with and regularly scored off hardcore biker crime figures.

Contrast this with Bennell who has not put a foot wrong since he arrived at the club, has been regularly feted by his own coach as being exemplary in his attitude and rehab from injury. Despite the facts as we know them (from Lyon's own mouth and every bit of info from the club) Bennell has constantly been subject to rumour and innuendo from not just jealous Eagles w***ers but almost the entire football media.

So what do you put the difference down to?
