This guy is barely literate, how does he get a job as a journalist? Oh, that's right, he is a self confessed Eagles tragic and hates everything associated with the Dockers - ideal candidate for WA media job.

As soon as I see his name on an article I just avoid it.

Unfortunately Brendan is a relic of the by-gone days at Fremantle when as a practicing Rajneeshi, he use to write the horoscopes for the Fremantle Gazette back in the 80s. His hobbies include eating lentils and listening to John Butler whilst playing hacky sack with Brad Pettitt outside of the Blue Buddha store. He lists his heroes as being Ghandi, the Dalai Lama and Kim Hagdorn.

So was dumb Brendan having it off with Ma Sheela or the Baghwan ?

To understand Brendan Foster you have to read this:

"Gonzo journalism" which is defined as "A form of journalism invented by Hunter S. Thompson. It involves the reporter reporting the action as he/she is in it. Elements are part experience and part fiction."

Those of us who have read Brendan's work know he has embraced gonzo journalism a little too enthusiastically and probably goes a little heavy on the fiction.

Anyone hear Brad Hardy on the radio this morning? He said that Nat Fyfe asked him personally where the rumours about him being unpopular were coming from, to which Brad replied "I don't know."

Hagdorn then said that the players that didn't like him are probably at other clubs now, hence Fyfe winning the captaincy vote.

Interesting to note that Hagdorn, Langdon and Hardy now think that he is staying with the club.

Thats the good'ol 2 bob each way bet from Hagdorn. Can't be confirmed either way and makes him look like he's across everything going on at Freo.

Shows how much of a load of shit all these unpopular Fyfe rumours are. They were made up and somehow gained momentum to the point where everyone just believed it as a matter of fact.

The players that have left I thought were some of Fyfe's closest team mates. De Boer and Barlow seemed to be his really good mates.

Those media dickheads have no idea what they're talking about.

Didn't the whole thing start with Fyfe supposedly missing out on a wedding invitation.

And not one acknowledgement of getting the whole thing wrong in the first instance.

There is no doubt that Barlow was a great mate of his and having Hagdorn continuously say that with people leaving like Barlow has meant that Fyfe will be captain was doing my head in. At one point I was going to call and give to him with both barrels but you know what they say about arguing with an idiot.

I feel that there were some senior players who found Fyfes style a little grating and it would appear one of them may have well have been Ballas. In the end it seems Fyfe learnt a lot in his year off the field and has been thoroughly endorsed, the rumour should have never had such legs as it appears to have been a minor issue and one that occurs regularly in club lists.

Well it had legs because because the media threw manure and water on it, and would sing softly to it in the moonlight.

I think they've both stated they had/have a strong relationship.
Both certainly hold the other in high regard and I think they're probably mates.
