Just missing the info about who from the club mentioned that figure, who they mentioned it to, etc. But other than, pretty much a piece of shit journalism again.

Bit difficult to imagine the club telling anyone that. His manager perhaps. I thought it was a poor article once again to be honest. This as an example of rubbish, meaningless, fact-free journalism;

I'm okay with this as all players were picked up by other clubs, and the reality is the kids have higher ceilings or time on their side.
We have started s new era at Fremantle, and I expect several more will go at the end of this year.
Doesn't mean they were not liked, a clean out was required.

Hard to make predictions before we even play a preseason game given even they recognise that we have transitioned from a list with the 3rd fewest players aged 21-24 to this year equal first of all the Clubs with 18 players in that range. With near on half the list in that age group, we're very unpredictable I feel but I am bullish that the quality that we've recruited since 2014 combined with the recent trades sets us up for a better tilt at it and hopefully a quicker turn around than when we last overhauled the list from 2008. So, I've come to the conclusion based on the fairly based Freo-related articles in WAToday so far in 2017 (new Bennell article out today), in contrast with the radio comments on various programs, that Mr Hagdorn's WAToday articles appear that they are being edited by someone above his position, with more of a clue about retaining and increasing their AFL-interested audience. Earlier I was giving credit to Hagdorn for a turn around in form in 2017 but I have reasonable suspicions that it is probably just that someone at WAToday now has taken serious editorial control over his articles to avoid hurting their readership further.
