Not surprising a few media (Wayne Schwass and Barra head) on twitter have gone with Freo cocking up with Roberton. We let him go because he wanted to go home, his mrs was pregnant, young and home sick. No one other than stk showed interest and they knew they'd get him for nothing if push came to shove.

Good to see him play so well, he showed a bit in his 30-40 games for us at times. May even be an all-Australian.

The worst thing about Roberton is that the Saints wanted him but knew we would be forced to delist him so "decided" not to trade. Had pretty much signed him as a DFA before trade period ended. Lack of integrity at the Saints which is not unexpected.

the thing I couldn't work out at the time was why there wasn't more than one club interested in him which would have forced a trade if there was more than on customer for his services.

Exception rather than rule though. Right this moment I was far surer Roberton could play in his first year (or Neale) than I am of Logue who has demonstrated some nice ability but not much footy smarts yet.

Brendan Foster did this purely to hang shit on Freo because he hates us and wants to create controversy. He's a shit stirrer.

Pav's call was a dig at a Perth suburb. I work in Midland and grew up/still live in the North East. Was a fair and hilarious dig! Did not think there was any racial connotation at all.

I heard Bren-dum on the radio on Friday, as he does a Friday afternoon spot with Simon Blow-mont on there and he makes no secret of his utter hatred of the Fremantle Dockers. In fact he said that if a statue of Matthew Pavlich was ever erected in the town of Fremantle that he would personally destroy it. He also said that the best thing to ever happen to Fremantle Oval was the Dockers moving out of there, yet Cockburn is still too close to his beloved town of Fremantle for his liking. Every week he tips against us in the football tipping and still reckons that we will win the wooden spoon this year.

A first class flog if ever there was one.
