That's what happens when majority are forced opt-in renewal.50,017 already!
I downgraded for this year after being told I had to upgrade to Kennedy Club to keep my seat.As a three game ticketholder (downgraded three years ago), I don't really consider myself as a member any more.
Does anyone know what the deal is as an MCC member? First year MCC and I'm up to about 13 years as a Hawk member. Probably not going to use any Hawk membership for entry, but am still keen to on being a member.
Any other MCC members around that can suggest an idea? Thinking just the 3 game membership is probably the cheapest option.

Automatic renewal is good for Home game memberships as it's only $18 per month over 10 monthsThat's what happens when majority are forced opt-in renewal.
Forced? Anyonenis free to renew or not renew. Sounds like a tightarse posting. That's what happens when majority are forced opt-in renewal.
Because i have changed my credit card details my direct debit bounced. That's what happens when majority are forced opt-in renewal.
If you pay in monthly instalments like I do then that would be an "account" I'm guessingBecause i have changed my credit card details my direct debit bounced.
The message from the club was i "need to contact them and pay the outstanding balance of my account ", since when did i have an "account " they can GAGF.
I dont pay monthly and take offense to please pay us $193 immediately. If you pay in monthly instalments like I do then that would be an "account" I'm guessing
Why the f**k does it have to be auto renew anyway?Maybe you should learn to be less offended.
You didn't tell them you changed your card details and you didn't opt out of renewing.
Thats probably a good thing for the general public too.Threads relating to our memberships and our merchandise always make me so utterly delighted that I no longer have to deal with the general public as part of my employment.
Why the f**k does it have to be auto renew anyway?
Because the money hungry club that I love and have been a member of for many years needs to extract every cent and dont give a shit how they do it.
Auto renew should be something I opt into not something I need to opt out of.

Forced as you're automatically opted-in and renewed, rather than contacting the club to renew.Forced? Anyonenis free to renew or not renew. Sounds like a tightarse posting.
Keep up the good fight for us, the minority. I try to sign at minimum available membership as anything more has very little benefit for people living elsewhere. Why the f**k does it have to be auto renew anyway?

upgrade without signing anything or an email link to click on to acknowledge is getting a bit cheeky I agreeForced as you're automatically opted-in and renewed, rather than contacting the club to renew.
In instances where your reserved seat is suddenly reclassified as a higher category, meaning you pay an extra $160 a year, you need to contact the club to prevent that additional money from being taken out. In contractual law, silence is not a form of acceptance. This new pricing change, is a new contract from the club to members. It should be an opt-in by request, not automatically.
So when the OP said 50k already signed up, that just means 50k members haven't called in to cancel their memberships. It doesn't mean 50k have decided to call and make the effort to join for 2017.
if you want to have a 3 game/interstate/whatever the cheapest option auto renewal you should be able to have it without worrying about it sliding, however, just about every business model on the planet these days seems to be, screw those that don't ask questions with price hikes, which is a shame.Keep up the good fight for us, the minority.
