I don't think he's drifting in the eyes of those who matter.

It's just my opinion, and I'm likely to be wrong.

I'd think he will definitely be there at 38 though.
Nah he's drifting since the start of the year. One recruiter said he might not get picked up. I don't believe that is the case, but he will go late.

Shit... I’ve been sitting on it for a while.
You have to get up early to beat me & stay up all night.

Also helps if you've had a partial lobotomy & are 9 cans in.;):p

I don’t know if it’s just me but it feels like this draft is deeper than it’s been made out to be. It looks like there will still be some decent talent available at 38 and everyone’s been saying for ages that this drafts garbage outside the top 30.

Like I said he's awkward at the moment but that's not the finished product, don't want to pass over a guy too lightly that had the superstar tag not so long ago

Everyone is going to scream about the other key in the mix too but you can work on kicking, and even though he's from WA he is a bigger Pie fan than Eddie

6. COLLINGWOOD - Naughton - has the afl traits to be a 10-15 yr player. Selfless, reads the play well, smart interceptor kicking can be up and down but will be a good defender and has held his own in seniors this year. The Pies have a team of mids with a very ageing spine, here he is one of the best available and fits a need also.
I dont get the love for Naughton at 6. It really must be a shizen draft for talls, if he is the first cab off the rank. He'll be too small to play on the big backs at AFL level, as despite his agility & strong marking at under 18 level, looks to have a short reach. I think he'll instead be limited to playing on the Adelaide T Lynch and Stringer types, as opposed to J Cameron, Patton, Daniher, Buddy, Lynch, Hipwood, Wright, Schache, etc...

The height & threat of these players is why I think Darcy is touted to go back, take these mobile monsters, whilst having the pace & desire to back up & apply forward pressure. So, do we then need another key back to control things? Not if McLarty comes on, which is expected. & Goldsack near retirement should be covered by Howe & Langdon. Thats a lot of tallish backs that we already have.

I think this all leaves a bigger hole in the FWD 50, which the club are no doubt confident to partly fill with a Lynch or Patton type next year... but would a roaming Fogarty or Stephenson be that livewire Martin of Fyfe type to dominate forward half stoppages, hit the scorebaord and cause havoc to opposition teams? I think yes.

If there are any concerns over Fog's go home factor, or limited potential... or Jaidyn's field kicking, I could still see them going for Coffield before Naughton. He's tall, fast, great kick, smart, couragious, a leader, and has been limited in his output by Metro's midfield being stacked, along with the fact that he can be relied upon to shut down gun players.

I think Derek is actually v good at judging potential vs current ouput, so I'm trusting that he will make the right call.

C'mon Derek, inspire us again!!

Reckon Toby Wooller will still be there at 38 and we should jump all over that.

It's more that the players outside the top 30 are hit and miss. There's nothing there too much that you'd go on and think "with the right development they could really become a star", it's kind of a theme with this draft. Players might be solid down the track but very few I think will become say top 5-10 at a club.

The Lever physique is in vogue, Richmond win a flag going small etc

You mean an alien?
That would be the first one in the league since KB!
I don't know about that. Have there actually been any official confirmed sightings of Freeman. I suspect that he may be an extra terrestrial myth.

Finally watched Rayner's highlights. Hadn't watched them as you'd expect he'll be long gone come our pick, but gee he has some moves.

On another note... LDU underwhelming IMO. Constable terrible. Even Cerra wasn't anything special.

I may as well start doing my own phantom based solely on 2 minute YouTube clips!

Hine will pick someone no one's ever heard of.
Despite what everybody has been saying about Hine, he has an impeccable record picking talent to suit our strategy. Not entirely his strength or fault that our strategy is/was a bit messed up and that we did some stupid things.
