Any interest in Joel Amartey? Sounds like a Hine type. Can anyone elaborate, just a name I heard on trade radio.

Edit - would obviously be a late pick but just wondering what he's like and if he's a chance.

Of the guys I’ve looked at, Coffield unless someone unexpectedly slides to us.
I'm onboard. Coffield's my guy.

Decimating our tall back stocks in the last two years makes me nervous, but it's hard to look past quality.

Nice size, can play back or mid, lovely disposal, composed, hard to tackle, a leader. Looks like a ready made player and one who could become an a grader.

I know little, but I know what I like and I like that kid.

I liked the idea of Collins then read up on his AFL form from his last couple of games. He got well beaten. That concerns me. I think there was a reason he wasn't playing. But again not a bad depth option.
I wouldn't read much into those last couple of games. He is just depth though. Dunn has that spot and hopefully Reid at CHB solves that area. Like to see McClarty get games post his late form and a full pre season.

I the short term we have enough kpd depth. We only need 2 in the team. Reid, Dunn, Goldsack are all AFL standard. McLarty is probably ready for a few games. I suspect that we'll also draft at least 1 more. I'd only take Collins if we see him as being likely best 22 in 2 years time when Reid, Dunn and Goldsack may be on their last legs.

He's a late hope. Athletic ruck/forward who's a tad undersized but good leap. Not so good in front of goal as evidenced by his missed set shot to ice the GF from 15m out.

If they aren't a good kick I do not want at 6.

That apparently rules out Stephenson who otherwise I like the sound of.

I'm leaning towards Fogarty slightly if only because he has scope as being of use up forward as that 3rd tall as well as a big bodied midfielder.

Of course if we've re-signed Wills for another couple of seasons we might prefer another type like Coffield.

Who knows though a kpp is a need so the obvious lower risk selection would be Brander in that category. I prefer the look of Balta personally.

Bonar is certainly a tantalising sounding prospect also.

So in conclusion I have NFI which way we might go.:drunk:

Yes Bonar has 2 knees :drunk:

He only had one knee injury though which was an ACL rupture. The graft from the first operation (when aged 16) did not take so he needed a new graft. That's not strictly a new injury. He had corrective surgery on the first and only knee injury.
They probably had to root both his hamstrings for the two grafts though. ;)

Not to mention, he’s statistically more likely to do his other ACL now. Pass.

Fogerty looks good but is there a go home factor? SA clubs will come calling if he has a good first 2 seasons, and we'll be made to pay overs to keep him.

I’m all over Fogarty like a rash. Just screams he’ll be a player much like Petracca did.

I know a lot of you are right into Coffield. Please convince me. From his highlights (only) seems like he fills one of only two positions on the ground we have a plethora of players in already? (Eg med def/mid)

Not writing him off just wanna know why he floats your boat?

I think it doesn’t hurt to recruit pace and skill. He can come in and play early on in the year I feel and I think he’d slot well into a hbf. He doesn’t play an intercepting role so it doesn’t affect Howe and co. Can realease Maynard further up the field too. He can also go forward where he has kicked goals.

I’d was very keen on Fogarty early on in the year and would still be happy to take him I just think there are a few more question marks on his game compare to Coffield.

I’m trying not to get too attached to any player this year because I know Hine will recruit someone we weren’t expecting haha.
