Definetly. Issue is there's no real way that I can think of for the league to make them play defense.

There's nothing on the line, so I get why they play the way they play. And there is nothing that's reasonable that you could put on the line.

There use to be some defense played many years back. And I think it was just an ego thing, that people would try. Didn't want to get beaten. But recently it's gone beyond a joke. No one cares. I think people are happy for defense played at 75% and the score being 140-130. But when defense is played at 5% and the score is 190-170, it's just pointless.

I get the reasoning and it would definitely up the intensity, but it's too big a price to pay for a one off game. Makes a lot of the season pointless if it doesn't matter in regards to who gets home court in the finals.

Yeah I don't think it's as good an idea as I used to. It used to solve two problems in that when the East was extremely weak and you had a team like the Heat able to get a heap of wins with extra games against shit while the the team who topped the West might have less because they have by far a harder schedule. Not so much the case now though.

Problem with high paid athletes who are all about their image I can't think of any other way to get them trying. I wouldn't care if they gave the weekend the flick but I do think they need the break.
