Is it plausable that both Brodie and Scheer find themselves best 22 sooner rather than later?
Brodie yes, Scheer who knows but probably not. Still a fair few players ahead of him in the pecking order.
The feeling Im getting from Scheer is that he is not a guy who will light up the training track or be one of the standout trainers, but as soon as he steps on the footy field he goes up two or three gears. He is just a natural footballer (besides that kicking style which looks awkward). But thats just based on one pre-season so I may be completely wrong.
Scheer has already proven himself at NEAFL level last year, I think he is AFL ready and expect him to leap-frog the likes of Hallahan and Lonergan pretty quickly as 'next in line'. I dare say he has already, so it will just be about maintaining good NEAFL form and waiting for his chance at AFL level for when injuries or a lapse in form hits. I think he was a steal with a pick in the 60's, a great get.
Playing NEAFL is not the best way to get game time into players. But it is the only way we have got.
It has only taken us 7 years to get to a point where we have our best chance to prepare players through the NEAFL. There are fewer teams in the NEAFL, and most importantly we can use a consistent set of players from our u19 academy instead of not ready top-ups.
Now we need to do what GWS and Sydney have done the last few years - play in a consistent style, play well, and win a bunch of games.
Really looking forward to some good news out of our NEAFL season, especially a dominant group at the stoppages.

Get used to it l know it's a shock to the system for us Suns supporters but we actually have depth now and quite a decent amount and decent quality.
We are so used to players simply getting a game because of injuries we are not used to them earning a game through consistent Reserves form.
So they haven't earnt a game in the Neafl? I don't think i can get used to that! They must be carrying niggles.

Without having no inside info I'm guessing curries injury is finger related.

Surely we will take at least 1 ruckman to Spotless (Nicholls /Currie ) No reason for Hallahan to be missing - no injury and not named as emergency...
Unless club is not being fully transparent...
Saw Hallahan at Tallebudgera Creek Sunday morning doing the salt water therapy thing looked very ginger particular around left hamstring rear upper left thigh area.

So our Club is telling Porky Pies maybe ..... where are our Ruckmen and Mitch Hallahan ? - no report of injury . Maybe they can't travel in the rain ?? Air sickness - hemmed in by floods or some other excuse but would like to know it ?
Its same old story - club does not take NEAFL seriously - senior players happy to take a holiday when it gets tough....

So why not say he's injured and in doubt - keeping that injury list low is obviously a priority consideration...

Just relax. The injury list is done on Tuesday, before two training sessions. Team lists are done after these two sessions. I'd hazard a guess that they got injured during training. They'll be on it next week if still injured.

The Suns reserves are at the Sydney airport, took the opportunity to talk to Brayden Fiorini about when we would see him on the seniors again.
Said he didn't know as he was playing down back because we have so many mids. He did mention that he is an emergency this week.
Also travelling are Matera, McKenzie, Harrow
