Good 1st quarter by both team Suns 2.3.15 Giants 2.2.14
All the normal players dominating Hallahan got his own footy. He's like a wannabe hodge very slow gets heaps of the footy and is like a coach out on the ground setting up the structure.
Brooksby Been a good target up forward had about 6 contested mark and kick the 1st goal
Bowes. Scheer and Brodie all playing good
Currie dominating the ruck and is moving around the ground well, he miles ahead of Nicholls

Gee young Jacob Heron has impressed me today. Kicked two great goal in 5 minutes by reading the ball Ablett like of a big pack 20 meters out from goal

Is he in our academy?

currie has been huge for us today. Done 99% Of the ruck work today. he's moving around the ground like a midfielder, kick 2 good goals

Full time Suns 15.13.103 Giants 10.11.71
That would have to be the best game I've seen our boys play.
All gave a full 4 quarter effort, stuck to the game plan and ran both ways.
Bright future ahead with some of the young talent we had on display today

Really good batch of academy players this year , really matching it well with the Neafl players .

watched a bit on the livestream. wouldn't take much from McKenzie's 32 disposals, didn't really have too much of an impact, turned the ball over quite a bit. I guess that's the thing where we're all calling out for guys like Brodie and Macpherson to get a game, you can't always go off the stats. Hallahan seemed to have a pretty good game, very good at breaking the tackle and getting the handball way.

Exactly the player we have needed most of the year. I really wonder what he has done wrong

Hallahan benefits a lot from playing at a league where he can use brute force to shake tackles and get arms clear. Lonergan was capable of doing the very same thing, but you just can't do that at AFL level. Hallahan also did a few things which probably will keep him out of the side, for instance bombing long to no-one when he had options to use poise and pick someone out on a shorter kick. I don't think he'll ever be an AFL player, and now that we'll start blooding kids and 'the future', he becomes redundant in our AFL side.

Watching the game yesterday, I thought Bowes was the only one who should be recalled. Play him on a forward flank and in the midfield though, not on a back flank. I wouldn't be adverse to playing Currie as well if Witts doesn't get up next week. I would rest Witts for the flight over and bring over Currie.

Brodie's education of playing him on a forward flank is starting to develop him more. He's now working on the spread and taking marks, but don't think I saw him lay a tackle. He needs to find the right balance there.

Totally agree. The weak NEAFL standard is fools gold sometimes.
His disposal is really poor.

Fair enough then, I will put my hand up and say I was wrong.
Kreglze - your not wrong...
Each of Bowes , Brodie, Scheer and Hallahan spent a quarter at half forward (in the order listed) while the remaining three were the primary midfielders for that quarter.
Sunny must have only watched the second quarter...maybe .... ?

I didn't actually watch a lot of the second quarter, but did the rest. Whenever I saw Brodie be didn't look to be part of the core midfield. Granted he rotated through there but not full time. Happy to stand corrected.

As mentioned he did pick up more marks than he usually does, so I'm happy about that. He just needs to get the balance right.

Think Brodie will be a player guys? Seems to get lots of touches each week but rarely in the best? I like the fact they have kept him in the NEAFL largely as I always felt he might take some time to develop. Seems to be becoming more of an accumulator but is he doing the damage on a regular basis? FWIW I'm rooting for the Suns in general as I love watching 2MP, Lynch and May. If you guys can get an upgrade on couple of hard tough mids I think you could quickly be an AFL force. Brodie looks the part? Gut feeling do you guys think he'll come on?
