Do we know who is eligible to play next week v the Swans? Seniors will be done so should get a nice boost.

It depends on the total games played, in both the reserves and the seniors.

If a player has only played 5 senior games or less, he only needs to have played 3 NEAFL games to be eligible for finals.

If a player has played more than 5 senior games for the year, he must have played at least 9 NEAFL games to be eligible.

So would need to do a tally up!

Other finals rules:

When 2 AFL clubs play each other in NEAFL finals, ie. Suns v Swans next week, there is no cap on the amount of eligibile listed players that can be picked.

But if an AFL club plays a non-AFL club in finals, only 16 listed players can be picked by the AFL team. Rest must be top-ups (Academy boys).

Alrighty, just did a quick check.

Brodie
Brooksby
Hallahan
MacPherson
Rischatelli
Scheer
Spencer

...Should be eligible to return & play in next week's final v Swans.

So we should field something close to this...

B. Scrimshaw, Spencer, Willis
HB. Shaw, Leslie, Davis
C. Schoenfeld, Brodie, Rischatelli
HF. Scheer, Grant, MacPherson
F. Heron (A), Crossley (A), Scott (A)

R. Brooksby, Lonergan, Hallahan

Int: Foster (A), Boakeye (A), Dawson (A), Davidson (A)

Swans seniors have a bye next week. Can they play blokes coming back from injury who aren't qualified and need a run or too bad?

Nope.

Must have played minimum 3 home & away NEAFL games this season.

Or minimum 9 NEAFL home & away games if they have played 9 or more senior games this season.
This only applies if our seniors are out. The only restriction that will apply next week is the 22 that played against Carlton yesterday will not be eligible

So this means that Naismith who hasn't played NEAFL all year should be okay to play against your team.

I expect 20 listed players to front up. Could be 19 since Florent came off injured in the last NEAFL game but had no mentioned in the injury report.
