Browns CB Howard Wilson suffered a fractured kneecap at rookie minicamp.

A fourth round pick, Wilson was injured one day after signing his rookie deal. He'll undergo surgery and likely miss the enitre season. The patella fracture is the second major knee issue for Wilson, who missed all but three games of his sophomore year to a torn ACL.

49ers sources have told MMQB's Peter King that free agent Colin Kaepernick "might actually rather do social justice work full time than play quarterback."

It seems like another flimsy excuse for teams to wash their hands of Kaepernick, who remains unemployed while charity cases like Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Mallett and Mark Sanchez continue to earn steady paychecks. Teams have avoided Kaepernick like the plague, preferring to distance themselves from his political stances or anything that could be perceived as controversial. Kaepernick hasn't been a particularly effective quarterback over the last few seasons but he's certainly worthy of being an NFL backup. Now that the May 9 deadline has passed, teams will no longer have to sacrifice a compensatory pick to sign Kaepernick. Even so, we wouldn't expect Kap to land an NFL opportunity anytime soon.

NFL Network's Mike Silver reports contract-year QB Derek Carr has "grown frustrated" with the "slow pace" of extension talks.

Per Silver, Carr is "extremely eager" to hammer out an extension before training camp, but the team hasn't reached out to his agent in the two-plus weeks since the draft. Carr's patience is "wearing thin," according to Silver's sources. We still have roughly two months until training camps open, giving the sides plenty of time, but this is going to be a tricky negotiation. Carr was previously pushing to pass Andrew Luck as the highest-paid quarterback in the league.

According to NFL Network's Judy Battista, owners will vote on -- and likely approve -- a proposal to allow two players to come off injured reserve in-season.

It makes complete sense. Too often, every year players who suffer non-serious injuries are forced to spend the entirety of the season on I.R. due to roster crunches. The I.R.-return rule forces a player to miss six weeks before practicing and eight weeks before being eligible to return to playing games.

Blount to the eagles. Nice fit. Philly's red zone offense should be very good.

On another note, charges against browns draft pick Caleb Brantley have been dismissed due to lack of evidence.

Will be good value for cleveland if he turns out to be able to play and steer clear of this sort of stuff

Appearing on CBS This Morning on Wednesday, Tom Brady's wife, Gisele, said Brady suffered a concussion last season and "he does have concussions."

If so, this is the first we've heard of it. Brady was on the injury report several times with knee and thigh issues last season, starting around Week 12 after a Week 11 game in San Francisco. He's never missed a game due to a brain injury, and missed the only 15 games of his career to injury in 2008 when he tore his ACL. Expect Gisele's words to get plenty of media attention considering the slow news cycle this time of year, but ultimately we don't see anything coming of it as far as a punishment for the Patriots. She sounded more like a concerned wife.
