Roos covered this yesterday on MMM, they would have selected Billings over Kelly (they also got Hunt with a pick in the 50s too from that trade)

I know he scored the goal, but imo it was the wrong option to be going for goal having run all that distance to put himself into a position to get the ball in the first place.

There was players by themselves, right in front 20m out.

Very very fortunate for him he kicked it. As you said, he has history of OOF.

It can't be the wrong decision if he kicks the goal, as he did.

He kicked for the record 16.38 last year. Obviously not the most reliable kicking option at the MFC.

He was very fortunate. Players are instructed by coaches to look for the best option. He missed Nathan Jones who was by himself. I would say there was a lack of awareness by Watts rather than ignoring Jones.

He would miss that goal more times than not on average. Lets revisit this when he does the same decision again which costs them a game in a final.

It got a mention on the SA Footy Show, Grant Thomas tweeted that he should have got a game, Choco said if he was coach he would talk to him and Kane moved on pretty quick.

They have a rule in soccer for penalty simulation. It can and has led to red cards.

I would love for the AFL to look at awarding free kicks the other way for simulated/hyper-exaggerated dives.

Seriously I mean ffs Wingard was flying like Superman on the weekend after his contact.

Interesting that the calls in this game are that they have been the best team all season, and yet this is only their second game in Melbourne so far this year. Also we beat them... They already have one loss in Melbourne.

In fairness, Nikki, we've only played once in Melbourne this year too. At least we won that match!

Wrong way around. He kicked 38.18 last year, 10.6 the year before, 13.8 the year before that, 14.7 this year. He's one of the better kicks for goal going around.

Dumb by Clarko but I reckon the media shouldn't be able to ask coaches about umpires in post-match pressers.

that wouldn't suit the narrative, the AFL need the media to ask the question and for well behaved coaches to say the umpires were fine to rubber stamp the awful standards.
