Anyone keen to see how the Saints go tonight ?? Huge test for them, and if they were to get up it could help our top 4 chances.

I've tipped the Giants but if the Saints are on they could cause an upset.
I'd say it's the opposite. If the Giants are on, the Saints have no chance. If the Giants aren't on, that's when an upset may be on the cards.

I wrote this back in February. And you think having a highlights package instead of a live broadcast is a bad thing for us? WE CONTROL THE HIGHLIGHTS, so therefore WE CONTROL THE MESSAGING.

Guess who won't be seen in the highlights package, except a fleeting glimpse as we kick what seems like goal after goal? Gold Coast in their red jumper.

That's why Cochrane is sooking about us being 'small-minded'. If they had worn white, we would have been able to sell the game in it's entirety - which was why we believed it was part of the commercial agreement when they signed the contract. They didn't, so they get frozen out. We'd rather take a financial hit on the broadcast of the game than see the Suns cutting in on something we've invested 4 years into to self-promote themselves as a parasite rather than a partner.

For the people actually attending the game in the stadium, the Suns wearing red is no big deal, because all the VIPs are attending because of Port Adelaide. They know who they are supporting, and the Suns wearing red is just good luck for the entire game. But for people who have never seen the game - those 17 stations that are picking up the highlights package - those are the ones that may have been influenced by Gold Coast wearing red.

And now, they won't be - because they will hardly see them.

Too bad, so sad.

So in conclusion:

And you're boasting about that kind of media control and manipulation? Wow.

So what you're telling us is that you're J K Rowling.

Not only do you write about fantasy but you live it every day.

Get yourself checked out.

So you are going to show the footage of when you lost to the bye?

Just wow.

1. If Gold Coast had worn white Port ( who apparently now control China TV ) would have 'let' a full game be broadcast in China.
2. Port are so flush with cash they can afford to take a financial hit

I can take a financial hit when I've outlaid zero dollars as well.

But I take your point, nothing for AFL billionaires to worry about.

Port know everything there is to know about being a parasite

If it wasn't for the Crows and AFL support they would have folded years ago

Pay back the handouts you've been given, THEN you can decide to take a financial hit

What a joke

So going from live games in prime time to a highlights package god knows when is a sign of a healthy situation? The fact that CCTV wont even show the game in China in full is such a kick in the balls it aint funny. This China thing is falling apart quicker than.....well quicker than a Chinese made toy.

Getting away from Port for a moment and onto a club that by comparison has credibility, integrity and ethics - Essendon - interesting that three Bombers players (including Jobe Watson) have been listed as "Rested" rather than "Omitted"

Don't see that often. But then we don't see what Essendon have done often

Janus also thinks Port make money from televised AFL games. Its the copyright of either Foxtel or C7 and it would be copyright infringement for Port to try and sell the game to someone else.
The delusion is real deep in this one.

Another gem from the PA board.

"This is where Port have to be smart. Have to keep a close eye on things and set up structures in the following manner;
1. Maybe spin off some of the China stuff into a separate entity non consolidated entity so that players don't include that as club revenue items
2. Make sure all costs are correctly included so that club doesn't make much money on the China development stuff
3. If we do get profits from partnerships look at JV structures so that $$ used to build infrastructure at Alberton isn't shown as revenue
4. Make sure the definitions of club revenues in the CBA expressly exclude certain items and those items don't include the development and inrastructure revenues.

The again if as the story reports - the AFL has agreed to pay players the equivalent of 11.2 per cent of all unbudgeted club revenues across the next six years - then it doesn't matter so much provided AFL don't come down with some sort of equalisation tax on Port to pick up the $$ value of the 11.2% figure. Then again can't trust the bloody AFL so go back to following my 4 points above."
Port, the club who are constantly receiving AFL handouts, are somehow worried that they're going to get hit by an equalization tax all because of China.
