There were whispers that Tippett had an out clause.
I find it a massive stretch to believe that even the AFL would pre-emptively rig a game due to unfounded rumours of a player having an out clause to his contract.
It's laughable.
In Adelaide, there also is the “silly season” forecast of who is to come to town - one quite probable, the other so incredibly silly that it cannot be laughed off because there is a tantalising edge.
At West Lakes there is the question of retired Brownlow Medallist Matt Priddis. The inside midfielder has cleared his locker at West Coast just weeks after signing a two-year deal with the Eagles - after supposedly passing up a one-year offer to use his free-agency status to reunite with Don Pyke at Adelaide.
Priddis’ hasty exit from the Eagles’ nest last week - along with the retirement of veteran midfielder Scott Thompson at Adelaide - brings back into question if the Crows would see merit in a delisted free-agent move on the 2014 Brownlow Medallist.
Priddis is 33 at the start of next season. A year in the Adelaide midfield mix while looking at a coaching apprenticeship at West Lakes - with the same theme fellow Brownlow Medallist Sam Mitchell carried in his move from Hawthorn to West Coast this year - is not so silly at all.

Ah yeah, he was intimating on 5aa on saturday, that priddis was going somewhere else next year. Kim Dillon was giving him shit, but he seemed assured.
Typical, go for dusty, kelly, gibbs and rocky, end up with priddis.
Hang on, this is the same bloke who's been banging on for well over a year that Rockcliff was going to Adelaide, now it's changed to him going to Port and Priddis going to Adelaide.
Seriously, I think Rucc takes a dump in the morning and thinks he's reading the tea leaves.
Bit like Janus and tarot cards.

Greg Denham is claiming Priddis retiring is just a dummy spit by him about being dropped (under the guise of injury) and he still wants to play. Rucci hears that, adds it with the simple thinking of Pyke wants anyone he can get from West Coast cause he used to be there and you've got an article.
Forget it's danger, and forget the Brownlow eligibility debate for a second...
Are we happy to see players suspended for this?
I don't like to see ugly incidents and am all for trying to reduce them. However I've seen the tackle many times and can't see a suspension in it no matter how hard I try. I find it quite rediculous really.
Of all the incidents they highlighted last night in comparison, the only one that looked bad was cam McCarthys pile driver.
Just think we are inching closer towards no tackling.
I think Brownlow ineligibleness (is that a word?) should be a layer of punishment the tribunal can apply in cases that are genuinely serious. One weekers for tackles or jumper punches aren't what the rule is there for. In the old days you had to belt someone to get suspended.
The MRP penalty is two weeks not one. He gets a week off the initial penalty if he accepts it without contesting. He doesn't get an extra week, he just gets the original penalty should he contest.
Why is this so hard for people to comprehend?
I don't like it. Crims can get a sentence discount of about 40% for pleading guilty because it saves court time, money and victims being dragged through a trial. But how can the AFL justify giving a discount of a week (which is 50% in this case) for pleading guilty to a footy penalty? Are the Tribunal members lazy and wanting to avoid a hearing if at all possible?
I have no problem with players ducking, I hate the umpires paying over the shoulder free kicks for it though. The umpiring in the Collingwood match was brilliant because they just called play on when it happened.

While ineligibility is probably the correct term, I reckon the more words we can come up with to describe why he won't get a Brownlow this year is a good thing.
Ineligibleation for example
Unbrownlowness could be another one

JUst reading about Billy Brownless rant about why Dangerfield rant. Apparently not far off the other fat idiots rant that you should suspend the 10-22 player in a team for that but not Patrick Dangerfiueld.
Honestly surprised his wife left him when they have so much in common, like they both have strong feelings for other men...

its a novel concept, but imagine giving them the power to essentially adjudicate Brownlow eligiblity independently of all the stuff they're already struggling to get right.
