Wait... is there any talk that Dangerfield doesn't want to? Is this about anything other than Geelong possibly being in a Grand Final and Danger wanting to focus on that?

Danger loves the limelight and likes to bignote himself, but I can't imagine he'd actually get pissy about presenting the Brownlow to someone else, even if he had the most votes but was ineligible. Hell, he'd probably want to make a joke about it.
It's more likely in combination with his current media 'ban' (except the ones that give him a regular large paycheck) and the AFL realising that people are getting annoyed in Melbourne about his over saturation in the media. There has been reported blowback and the Brownlow would then be all about Danger and the camera's on him the whole night and not on anyone else. This would not be the narrative that the AFL would want with everyone just doing a Danger watch and talking about their stupid ruling that made him ineligible.

I think he would. In fact Im sure he would.

It would sting anyone, its human nature. But if you have a massive ego, then....

Its like when people say he would be happy to see a crows flag, rather than jealous.

Shhhhyeeeeeeeeeah, right.

How will Flopper make the media feel even more sorry for him than they already do unless he presents the medal himself?
Surely he has to still do it.
And now that the decision is in his hands, imagine how brave he will be for going up there to present the medal if he won it but was ineligible. :D:rolleyes:
I want to see Dangerfield hang the medal around his own neck and run off.

Would either be Mardi telling him what to do, or his way of avoiding getting questions about the Brownlow.

He has history trying to avoid the media when he doesn't want to be asked questions. I remember when he tried to get out of his 5AA spot towards the end of 2015 to avoid being asked about whether he was leaving.

5AA refused to let him out of his agreement, but they came to a compromise where he would still do his radio spot, but no-one at all was allowed to ask him anything about his contract or his plans for 2016.
Enough of this. He's a grown man and makes his own decisions.

So who do we want to win tonight?

Geelong winning puts them level on points with us but it also ends any hopes the Swans had of top 4 and puts top 8 at risk.

I'm firmly in the Sydney camp, even with Tippett playing and Dangerflog out.

So is it true Dangerfield is taking a month off from the media apart from his fishing show he apparently does.
I heard Caroline Wilson say something about it this afternoon.

I think he would have a PR consultancy that would be monitoring a bunch of things including social media, and may have tapped him on the shoulder and said that it appeared his constant media appearances were starting to have a negative effect.

Geelong for me. Sydney in the top 8 is dangerous.

We can lock in a top two position with two more wins. We need to be good enough to do that to have any chance of getting a flag.

Plus coming up a dispirited Sydney in two weeks would be good.

Tough one

Both sides have their best midfielders missing but I think Sydney have more avenues to goal. If Geelong lose that puts them under pressure with tough games to come. If Sydney lose then they could still fall out of the 8.

Huge game and sadly I'll be at work. Sydney by 12 points

doing a quick ladder predictor, even if we and Geelong both beat Sydney, they're still likely to make the 8 - unless we lose to Essendon...

I'd say so. Surely his PR people can't have been happy with the last couple of weeks. He came off looking like a douche multiple times and had industry veterans calling him soft.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING !??????
What "message" does that send ?

That you can sook it up if things don't go your way.....

I will bet that the umpires have been instructed not to give him BOG votes for the last few rounds......
I don't usually watch the Brownlow count. If a players is suspended to they post the votes they receive? It would be interesting to see if the umpires vote for him in the remaining rounds if his form warrants it
