I don't like geelong anymore than most of y'all but I think they have the right to feel aggrieved that their home game was gifted to the tigers just so the AFL could line their own pockets. We'd be fuming if we were in their position.

I was at the G last night and it was bizarre. Felt like 75% Richmond fans. When Geelong ran through their banner the boos were near-deafening. Anytime they kicked a goal there were boos. Free kick to Richmond and the crowd went ballistic. It reminded me of a hostile Crows crowd at the Crowval. Just bizarre when Geelong finished above Richmond on the ladder. Still, as Chris Scott says, you have to win on the G in the GF so may as well get used to it...
It was never raised as an issue as recently last year, when Geelong also finished the minor round in 2nd place and had to play a MCG co-tenant (last year it was Hawthorn) at the G in the first final.

No one seriously thought they'd get a final against a Victorian team at Kardinia Park. They never have, and they never will.

Credit to Richmond fans for shelling out en masse for tickets then baying for blood for 3 hours.

I have not been to one Power game except for Showdowns and I could not think of anything worse to do.
When they first came in I purchased a footy park members ticket for power games so I would have access to the away showdown and sanfl finals. Would go and buy the members pass for my dad and little sis for each game and we would barrack loudly for the opposition. It was great fun.

Can't see Essendon winning today, they'll get beaten up in the contest IMO, plus Tippett is out which helps Sydney.

Port to beat West Coast in the GF tonight.
Winner of the Port v West Coast game will be deserved premiership favorites unless West Coast wins.

In the end they're just people.

Most of them are pretty decent. It's the 1% dickheads that you try and avoid.

Yep, went to the Port Showdown last year and sat in a bunch of Port members, they were all pretty nice. They all welcomed each other upon their arrival and had a nice conservation, and IIRC talked positively about how the Crows were going during the year. They weren't ferals like the banana girl. Behind me was a guy, probably was in his 50s, he was very calm until Port got within a couple of points of us in the late third quarter, and said "Come on we can beat them! They are not as good as they think they are!" Then some old lady says "I don't know.... they are pretty good....". Found that pretty funny.

I wonder if we'll do the stare down again, or if that was a one time thing?
To me that stance at the start of the game was very "We fly as one".

It was showing the opposition how switched on we were, how much all of our team were on the same page ... including the coach. No emotion, all business.

We are well drilled and one-in-all-in, we had planned everything down to how we were going to stand during the national anthem.

It doesn't matter if others see it as "weird" or "bizarre", it was a purely team driven extension of the team mantra ... basically a signature from each player that they were 100% onboard.

Loved it.
