Anyway apparently it's all a beat up from the Crows SA media, even though it's Koch's comments that started this whole mess.
It's amazing isn't it. You get the odd post which questions their delusion but the rest of them actually believe their shit.

What I did enjoy reading Janus's post is there draw. They could easily be 0-4.

People said the same about our draw last year. They could get that whole siege mentality going and catch teams on the hop at the start, especially as they're mixing things up quite a bit.

They're throwing a Hail Mary for sure.

The hits keep on coming, now Janus posted they weren't from one of the worst back 6 to the best after getting used to Bassets defensive game plan.

Classic Janus, he's at it again.

Apparently the Kochie bitchfest is for show to stir up attention and both clubs will release limited edition jumpers, all this is a beat up and Port don't have an issue.

Then he went on to say the AFL have given Port a tough start as the AFL want Port to fail and for China to be a success for the Gold Coast.

Lots of whacky weed over there.

In case you missed it, Travis Auld said on the radio tonight that the AFL just stipulates that the designated home team in the fixture wears their home jumper and they can't do anything else even if they want to because that's the rules...but if the teams can come to an arrangement it doesn't bother them.

He then said that Gold Coast and Port Adelaide have a separate agreement between themselves and that David Koch and Tony Cochrane are friends so he can't imagine it being a problem.

As for the tough start - it's as tough a start as we had in 2015 when we finished 3rd. But don't worry about it, because while we could go 0-4, we'll still be ok...but you'll slit your wrists if we go 4-0.

1st at defending ball movement inside defensive 50 according to Champion Data, with a makeshift back six for half the year consisting of two rookies and an SANFL quality player in Paul Stewart. Wait until we roll with players who actually know how to defend at AFL level.

Guess who was 2nd at defending ball movement? Your team of defensive superstars.

Just for us rookies, what does defending ball movement inside 50 actually mean?

Kind of a yes and no type thing I think. Hombsch and Ausin were both ranked highly for 1%ers, but as a team they were ranked 16th in both transitioning the ball from defensive 50 to forward 50 and from scoring from defensive 50 chains. Though in wins they scored 43 points from forward half intercepts, which was 2nd best in the AFL, but that dropped down to 21 in losses, but the fact they lost more than they won might indicate that the press wasn't working as much as they needed it too.

No way. Chads done nothing with the maggies. Bass created a premiership in his own mould. Chad is about 3 light years away from Bass.

But imagine Chad assisting to Bass. Hoo boy, that would be golden.
I don't think Chads accomplishments, or lack thereof will have any bearing on him being considered for the job.

Funny you can pick a metric to prove just about any point.

What about the points against metric?

So you believe a back six should be rated based on the points they conceded when their midfield lost hitouts and therefore effective clearances by a fair margin?

We gave up 1939 points from 1204 inside 50s over 22 games - 1.61 points per entry. You gave up 1795 points from 1106 over the same period - 1.62 points per entry.

So yeah, our back six is better than yours. Deal with it.

No mate, that's small potatoes

But if this turns out to be something...

Interesting to see I saw Trigg and Smart at Thebby on Sat, walking not too far from each other...initiate rumors now

...there won't be enough kitchen knives to go around the Adelaide forum.

Most Gold Coast Suns supporters are adamant that their side will wear their Home jumper. Port fans have a lot to worry about beyond their own team this year it seems. Worrying about what jumper the Suns will wear in round 8, what the Lions will do with Port's first round pick at the end of the year, and us, cos they always have a fascination with how we are going.

Lies, damned lies, etc.

By the way, you're very critical of our midfield whereas your midfield is your strength. So us with a poor midfield conceding less points than you with a super midfield should lead you to concur that our defense is better.

Ruck generates hitouts and hitouts to advantage which is the main source of clearances last time I checked, and we didn't have a premium one all year.

It's zero sum - if your attack is better, by default your defence also becomes better because the ball is in the hands of the opposition less.

Attack needs to win the ball from midfield. Ruck contests and clearances are one way to get the ball inside 50, there are many others. Do we have a weak midfield or not? What are the aspects of our midfield that make it weak? As a defense, would you rather have Port's midfield or Adelaide's midfield in front of you controlling delivery of balls into your defensive 50?
