Yep, the Rams visited my primary school too as a young fella. We did Softcrosse for a term and had a great time trying both sports out in our PE lessons... but guess what? The footys came straight back out at recess and lunch because we simply didn't give a shit about either when we could just continue to enjoy the local sport we've grown up playing that is played by the local footy club we love too... the same will happen in Shanghai.
softcrosse is awesome

Like the Lions clash jumper, except for that silly white panel down the side, why!

I wonder if Adelaide United now have to check with Kochie if they can wear their Red kit next time they play an ACL game in China? They do have a white kit you know

Since you're all so enamored with what we are doing...

KEITH THOMAS:
"I believe that the China initiative can be transformational for our club. I think it can take us from being the nominal smaller of two clubs in Adelaide to being a very unique and powerful proposition in the whole of the AFL because of the trading opportunities that are created by attaching to China. Now that takes years and years and years of developing relationships all the way up through government in China, which we've done. And we believe that we are on the cusp of delivering very significant outcomes. The game is a part of that, but to be honest, the game is not central to the strategy at all. It's a great symbol of our intent to be in China, but all of the great work is happening in other areas."

STEVEN ROWE: "You sound excited. Are you at the top of the mountain ready to roll that snowball down?"

KEITH THOMAS: "We are 80 percent of the way up, needing to just tidy up a couple of opportunities before we can talk about them positively. But I'm talking about game changing opportunities for the Port Adelaide Football Club."
Who's the franchise again?

softcrosse is awesome
Sure is!

My first sporting love was and is Aussie Rules so I didn't keep at softcrosse... also I knew it eventually turned into lacrosse, which is a great sport, but as a short and skinny fella I barely have the build for Aussie Rules let alone Lacrosse which is way more physical:p.

You should try it sometime maybe you wouldn't be stuck with a dud coach.
Speaking of being stuck with a dud coach, I've seen a number of posters saying that clubs receiving AFL aid can no longer sack coaches mid contract. Is that really a rule now?

Damien Hardwick on coaching 2017:

"We've brought players here who are incredibly talented kids and they're all filled with key strengths, so I just want them to play and play good footy.

"The fact of the matter is they've got to become more childlike to do it. Hopefully it works."

We will never know how a genius' mind really works.
