They've taken maybe 3 or 4 decent players (Plowman, Marchbank, Pickett, and possibly Phillips) but along with that they've been forced to take 3 list cloggers (Sumner, Palmer, Lamb). They've also inexplicably grabbed more list cloggers like Smedts and Gorringe who were proven trash at their old clubs

Carlton producing some pretty bad footy here. Missing their top end talent in Murphy, Simpson, Gibbs and Docherty, but the youngsters are really struggling to move the ball cleanly.

That and St Kilda's strength is quick ball movement. As I said last week if they can get their defence right, and Carslile will be a huge part of that, then they'll make the 8

I'm not changing by prediction that they will be in the bottom 2.

Apart from a purple patch last year, they were ordinary.

They have the worst performing list for their age.

I agree. Rowe, White and co are a joke. Horrendously bad. That donkey who thought Palmer and co were taking them to the finals. LOL.

Bolton at least turned them into a middle of the road team defensively so they weren't suffering 100+ point defeats like Brisbane were. It's a definite work in progress, but it'll take at least a couple more years of development into the likes of Curnow, McKay and Silvagni before they have a forward line capable of consistently kicking a winning score I think.

Bolton might be a great coach, but his recruiting and talent ID guys might cause him to lose his job.
Is that his job, or SOS's? He seems to want every damn player that's come over from the Giants, regardless of if they're actually any good or not.

What happened to that Carlton clown that spent so much time on here in the pre-season letting us know what a great list they now had and that they were finals bound? I watched a bit of both Carlton's pre-season games so far and----ughhh! They'll be lucky to avoid the spoon this year, even with megastar Gibbs up and firing on all one cylinder.

A St Kilda backline with Brown and Carlisle looks a hell of a lot stronger this year. And their forward line is multi-pronged now. I know a lot think that the Demons will be big improvers this year but the Saints have a much stronger and experienced spine.

Carlton are in for a few more seasons of pain, to many recycled players

I've never been convicted with Bolton as a senior coach and I just wonder how long Carlton will be patient with their coach
Is Craigy still there?

How do you judge Bolton with arguably the worst list?
