Does anyone know how much earlier their bye is due to the China game compared to the rest of the league?
More fatigued at the end of the season than every other team (apart from China's favourite team) will be great to watch!
They have the Round 9 bye vs having a bye in either Round 11, 12 or 13.

Not the sort of stat I'd bother remembering myself, but I read over on their board that Dixon has now kicked 1 goal in his last 6 games.

If the destination club were to actually drop him, who would replace him?

Seems like just yesterday they had "Taylor Walker" on their list planning whiteboard.

Fatigue at the end of the season wont be an issue for them.

They get their annual break in September.

Their player development is dreadful. Wingard and Wines have regressed when they looked like world beaters in their firs 2 seasons. Their round 2+ picks are all average, and they've wasted all their first round picks trading for other teams' waste like Ryder (lol) Polec (LOL) and Dixon (F'NLOL)

Their only 2 players I would want at the Crows are Gray (who is a star) and Hombsch (who is solid). The rest may have talent, guys like Wines, Boak, Wingard, Hartlett may have talent and capable of putting in good performances better than some of our guys, but they're either inconsistent and mentally weak or have massive holes in their games which are readily exposed making the rest of the strengths redundant.
Would love Sam Powell Pepper before he is "Port Powered".

If that's true, which I am sure it is, that is astonishing !!

Port are basically where we were as a club at the end of 2014. Their 2014/15/16 followed our 2012/13/14 almost identically.

We bit the bullet, sacked a contracted coach and refocused on performance instead of media spin.

They didn't.

Port 2017 will be interesting to watch because it'll be an insight in to where we might've delved to in 2015 had we kept Sanderson.

It's looking pretty dire.

Dixon is the most over rated trade since we traded for Tambling. The dumb intimidating tough guy tactics he plays doesn't work because it's a bluff and he can't do anything when called. Any half decent big bodied full back will smash him. He is slow and a poor pack mark.
I've always believed that if this is your 'schtick' then you follow through and hurt people, take some weeks off and come back and do it again. People will soon see you are for real and step sideways when they see you coming

Yep, they stunk last year but they've been around the mark in other years. Added 2 decent mids, a good ruckman and they have some decent kids.
The biggest change, and the one which will probably have the most effect, is Dimma has basically admitted he cant coach and is basically leaving it for the players to work out. Expect a big turn around in form from the Tigers.

Hasn't kicked a goal in an AFL match since round 15 last year (missed a couple of games). Would be Rucci's next counter if he played for us.
At least he aint ruining the game....

Yes, but you have to be good to back it up. He gets all tough when frustrated. If he starts getting suspended all the time, players will push his buttons. The other problem is players don't take a backwards step these days. Hall found that out. If he played in the 80s and 90s it probably would work but careers are on the line. If a defender pulls out of a contest out of a fear of getting hurt, career over. In other words the tough guy act died with increased professionalism. Besides Lockett and Hall wouldnt intimidate anyone if they played these days. They would just get suspended all the time with no benefit to the team.

Any coincidence the two seasons they ramp up the China strategy onfield results and team harmony were poor. The third is looking the same.

Yeah probably not.....

I am sure the players and coaches find learning Mandarin to impress Mr Gui more usefill than learning and implementing a gameplan.

They're probably still ashamed the whole grubby deal was mixed up with the sale of the Kidman cattle station, an important Australian food bowl.

I love it how they're back to "midfield" on the well-worn "where can we hide Shithoff this year because he's failed everywhere else" board game... they haven't quite figured out the right answer is "Port Magpies".
