To be fair, it is his son. It is reasonable for him to give him the benefit of the doubt to the extreme. I would say its poor journalism to show on tv his rant. He clearly is blinded by his Son on the issue. It was very poor. They probably should have cut that bit out of the interview. It made an old man look like a goose a bit.

The bit I read online was full goose mode of blaming AFL the government and everyone else ( not the media though that they would cut out )
What gets me is how it is Vlads fault after he warned them it was about to hit the fan, tried to sweep it under the carpet and when it was too lumpy to hide he arranged minimal penalties that WADA called him out on.

Ric Sprake, 66, was found dead in a Doncaster East hotel room in Melbourne on Saturday. The long-time Hawks employee was arrested by sexual crimes detectives in December last year.

Let's hope he suffered immense pain before he died.

Fiveaa are having a having the regular Sports Show from 3-6 then another sports show with Kane Cornes and Ben Hart of all people from 6-7. Is Ben still at Collingwood?

Kane is a completely manufactured radio 'personality'. I like the guy and wish him the best in life but he has little going for him over the air waves. The Cornes dynasty has big influence at 5AA and they appear determined to make him something he is not. Maybe it will 'work'. They probably figure close to 50 o/o of the football public will listen to him no matter what, because port supporters will listen to anything, as we know. Truth is though he has a poor radio voice and presents blandly. We will see how it all pans out but just having football knowledge/background doesn't make a radio star. Where is the uniqueness of personality?

Shane Crawford is probably the one exception.

The modern day AFL media robot is boring and feels his opinion is to be heard above everyone else's.

The older guys might have egos, but they don't take themselves so seriously.

I switched over to AA twice this week, both times to hear Kane Cornes having a go at Michael Clarke's commentating. I just laughed and switched off again. I cannot listen to cornes - his voice grates!
I sent an email to AA containing "pot...kettle..." and #worstvoiceonradio.....i'm guessing it didnt get read on air.

does Wayne Carey count as post 2000 era? He's the best of the young-ish guys getting around. Ling etc are a bunch of tossers, which is funny really because while they were playing you'd probably expect it to be the other way around.

When re-watching the 2015 final v bullies, I realised how bad the commentators were. Darcy & Ling are both terrible. Classic Ling is to repeat something Richo said really slowly like we are all kids. Darcy is just really dull... unlike his Dad who was ok.

It was terrible. They all jumped on Lings '' that was a free'' bandwagon. Then switched when Richo said ''nah it wasnt''

Judd I think was on MMM covering for Lyon.

He has no ego, articulate & speaks his mind.

Was surprised how good he was to listen to.

Swan I haven't heard, but in player interviews he was honest with no cliches & usually entertaining.

Certainly better than his fellow cat captain Ling.

I like Barry Hall too - he has fun with his persona but also has some really nice observations on the game.
