I keep Foxtel because it's an easy way to record (on cable so I get free to air on Foxtel) I can record when I'm out, it's such a simple system, wouldn't be without it.
And for the footy, V8's and F1's.
As well as being able to watch shows/footy on my phone or Ipad.

Yeah i have cable too. Never watch anything but Sport live. Fast forward the ads and never get stuck with them :)

Always have a show or 2 in there ready to watch

My old mans only gets abc and sbs.
Also it won't be local.
That's what I always thought but I moved this year to a house with satellite and have all the channels so I'm not sure what the go is. I have IQ3 so maybe that's the difference.

Yeah it's iq3
I think you need to call Foxtel.

I just remembered when I first got it I only had ABC and SBS. I called them and they did something and I got the rest, sounds like your dads hasn't been installed completely.

I think you will find no one in adelaide with sat gets FTA. How that works Im not sure, given that it's coming from the one satellite. I assume they limit it by the card in the box.

The situation is as follows, boys.

On satellite, only some of the ABC and SBS channels exist, period. Expensive to retransmit and none of the others have agreed to pay!

On cable (only in major capitals, I believe) Foxtel supplies some of the other FTA channels.

The IQ2 does NOT have an FTA tuner, so the above limits apply.

The IQ3 DOES have an FTA tuner, so all channels will be available, one way or the other, if this is activated, but these are not supplied by Foxtel and they take no responsibility.

I believe that this will explain all of your individual observations.

Cheers.

Happy New Year, Folks.

Well this definitely isn't true for me as I have satellite Foxtel with an IQ2 and I get ten free to air channels
