Here's the AFL policy on team uniforms

1. 4.1 Clubs and Uniforms
   
   1. (a) For the purposes of these Regulations:
      
      1. (i) a uniform includes but is not limited to a guernsey, shorts, undershorts, socks, headbands and gloves;
         
         
      2. (ii) the Club named first in a fixture of a Match shall be deemed to be the home Club and the second named Club shall be deemed to be the away Club; and
         
         
      3. (iii) a home uniform means the uniform worn by a Club when it is the home Club and the away uniform means the uniform which may, subject to the direction of the AFL, be worn by a Club when it is the away Club.

Considering they were told to wear an away strip for their home final against Richmond, they would explode.

If they're that worried about the guernsey it leads me to think that their impact into China thus far has been extremely minimal.

Kochie is trying to talk up a 5-10 year commitment, but honestly I think they will get 5-10k to the game and it will be a one and done situation.

Their campaigner supporters came on here last year talking about the importance of spreading the game globally. Reality is that they want to spread the game #theportadelaideway and are not concerned about any Club willing enough to travel all that distance.

Fair point... I doubt there will be more than a dozen Chinese attending the game anyway. Will be mostly expat Australians, who would already support their own AFL club.

On the Poort board they're crapping on about the Crowvertiser, and that the Chinese are not sheep who will pick a team based purely on its colours. The same poster also covered their a*** by saying that 'supporters gained' is probably low on the club's list of priorities for this enterprise.

Kochie said that if Gold Coast want to play there in 2018, they will wear their away strip in 2017. Jeez, got them over a barrel there haven't you David?

Another says that the reason PAFC is bitching about this is because the club has 'put 3 to 4 years of incredible effort into the China strategy unassisted and is taking the real risk here so why should GCS get a totally free ride.' They say that the Suns will get lots out of this for minimal effort compared to Port, and as such Port has the right to demand some things. Cool story bro.

The first signs of paving the way for an inglorious retreat from the whole suspect China experiment are beginning to appear in comments by Koch/PortA. ' if you want this to be only a one-year project for you (GC), then you wear your home strip' is the quote from Koch in the SMail. It comes under the headline of Kochie's Shirtfront on Suns' Guernsey. What a posterising heap of garbage! AFL in China is looking increasingly thinner to all involved and when it slowly dissolves away to nothing you can bet that Koch and his publicity sycophants will have a strong case that it is somebody else's fault. Who knows, maybe even █████? Spare me.

If China is a success, what is stopping Gold Coast from doing everything on their terms... given it is their home game after all.

Hopefully they want to make it a 5-10 year thing and end up having to use one of their own home games to play in China and make it another clubs away game , who get their jumper and also get paid to go.
