¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This crazy reaction to the booing is typical of the media and the main reason I no longer watch the footy shows on Fox. These so called footy experts just don't get that the Dangerfield to Geelong saga was an absolute nightmare for every Crow supporter. They only experienced this as the "Dangerfield homecoming event".

That stupid promo of Dangerfield on the surfboard wearing his "office suit was an insult to the AFC. That's how I took it anyway.
I really don't hate Dangerfield for leaving. I get it. It made sense. What I did hate was the Victorian and Fox Footy media for turning his homecoming into the Greatest show on Earth! As if his time in Adelaide meant nothing until his famous return to the real home of football.

The reality is that the Crows gambled on a talent from Melbourne who was still to complete his studies and supported this for his first 12 months at the club. Despite this we were prepared to look ahead to a bright future. We could have taken the easy option with Ebert but instead saw something that not many Vic clubs or their media could see. This kid was something special.

After the tragedies the club faced during his tenure as a Crow one would think he would have developed a special bond with the club and the supporters. I'm sure he genuinely loved the club and his mates on the field and I don't think his decision to leave was an easy one considering his family ties in Moggs Creek. I don't envy him in that regard.

But decide he did. He took the family option. Geelong won that battle. No second place. We also lost out in the trade. So we move on and 2 seasons later Jerka lays it on the line......"He could have had a Brownlow and a premiership medallion" so this set the scene for the Prelim. I think we were all in fear of what might happen if we lost to Geelong. The media set this up as the AFC v Their past champion who ultimately shunned them for a better life. So to see our current favourite player flatten our previous favourite player who had abandoned us was...............exhilarating and f***n awesome!!!!!!

This is what I don't get with the media. They are blind to what has happened to the Crows with his departure. I understand Frawley being ignorant but not Tredrea. He is usually better than your average "personality". He only sees this from the players point of view. No one tries to understand where we as supporters are coming from.

This was the happy ending we all needed! We can now move on to bigger and better things!...........Fck the media!
Great post.

Sums up almost every Crows poster.

Had we received two first rounders from Geelong which would have been a fair trade, I could have moved on before Friday night. That campaigner could have insisted on that.

Geez, the Richmond board are up and about. Our win last night "wasn't that good"

They'll "easily account for us"

"They only beat Geelong by 10 more points than us"

******* FINISH THE JOB. FINISH THE MASTERPIECE. LET'S GET IT DONE
Richmond aren't that good.

They dominated Geelong for three quarters and couldn't kick a score. We dominated Geelong and punished them.

Richmond should be seriously concerned with their bottom players. Very mediocre.

SEN obsessed with talking about the hit on Danger. Derm trying to bait Sloaney into saying it was a late/high hit. They're pure scum and so disrespectful. Now Robbo trying to get Sloane to say he's in trouble with the MRP. They played Anthony Hudson calling the game during that bit and he was screaming that Danger had been knocked out and didn't even get a free kick! Then Dangerfield got up and it's like oh ok.

The Poort board thinks that we will get thrashed 2007 GF style because Port absolutely smashed the Kangaroos in the 2007 PF and then went on to get smashed by 119 points in the GF...... lol
The pear board should stick to all things Chinese, that's the extent of their football knowledge

Also criticised us for having fans appearing out of nowhere. That happens to every club, Port is not exempt from having casual supporters who gets excited when their team does well.

They are that far in front of themselves, that if when Richmond lose this afternoon, there will probably be no MCG left standing for a game next week !!

If the crowd thought Danger was truly injured we wouldn't have booed, but when he lies down like he's dead, pops the head up to see if anyone has noticed and then lays down again, the crowd could see he was milking it
Also he played 7 years here. Every Crows' fan knew that he was 100% fine.

Do Geelong even have any decent picks to trade with? Any players they can offload who aren't Free Agents?
I thought they would drop last year, and they didn't. I thought they would be 5-8 this year and they weren't.

They are still heading towards a bit of a problem list wise imo, but they seem to keep themselves operating on the edge of competitive.

I actually rate Scott as a coach, he just doesn't have the list behind him anymore ... maybe a bit like Hinkley, he does some of the stuff at elite levels - but needs more support across the board to achieve success?

Geelong's modern success was built on Father-Son picks. It was. We don't have to go over that era again to show what they got. It takes a long time for that help to be washed away. They move a few players on and keep their chins above the water line, but eventually the quality is gone.

In 2018 they won't have many of the greats left. Harry Taylor is hanging on, just. Hawkins looks a shadow of his former self and just not a good match to the modern game. Selwood and Dangerfield are not enough. The good young players like Parfit are few and far between for the Cats.

Too many other teams are coming from the bottom half imo.

I actually think Power might be in a worse position. At least the Cats have the "Victorian" thing on their side in terms of luring players. Power have only got $ to offer, and even that is thin on the ground ... I suppose they always have the China game as juicy carrot for potential players :D

Anyway - Geelong will make some moves in the off-season, they have to, but surely they can't just replace players like Mackie and Lonergan into their system without a cost? They surely will have a bit of a trough to ride out before they get back into the upper echelons? I don't see how they get players like Stringer in without selling some decent in-contract stock? I don't think the two RFA's in Menzel and Motlop will give them enough to go on a buying spree. Guthrie is an RFA next year - so maybe someone like that gets put on the trade table? Who knows ... this trade period should be interesting to watch from so many perspectives.

What do they say about Port Power fans in glasshouses? Geez they shit me with their real club est.1049 vs us the plastic franchise.
They can froth all they want about winning their hollow SANFL premiership when Lobbe earns more than the entire Sturt salary cap, meanwhile we're off to the real big dance.

Geelong coached in fans and had a few bays near the Geelong race, I had a mad crows supporting mate fly in from interstate to use an extra ticket on my barcode that cannot come to games because of the obvious reasons, I'm sure there were plenty like him there last night.

The worst 15 crowds at AO since redevelopment are all Port crowds, 4 of them are from 2017.

In the 11 home and away games we both had at AO this year Crows had 513,151 fans, Port had 419,414.

Thats in 2017 over 11 games an extra 93,737 paying full price, not given away, tickets helping our bottom line.

Was just reading through a few posts on other boards and this whole thing about "franchise" and "not a real club" thing kept coming up.
I don't really get it. Why would any crows supporter/ any AFL supporter give a **** about how their club came about, unless they were being created this very minute? Or just out of interest in reading about history.
Once you're club/franchise whatever people like to call it, has moved on from that point they have begun to create their own history.
So why should I give a **** if the crows were created in a courtroom, or whatever else stories are used to make others feel more important. Camry crows, song and all, that shit is part of our history and to me, ******* funny cos it's corny. But seriously who gives a ****.
The players that have played for us are real, the coaches and support staff have been real and the supporters are real.
So whether you were created in 1180, 1984 or ******* 2011, who gives a ****. At the end of the day we love our club.

Can't wait for today's game.
Can't wait to see how Kelly, Whitfield, Shiel and CO go on the big stage at the G.
I think their midfield is too good if on, also I think Richmond haven't been focused at all on this game, they're more interested in GF week.
It will bite them on the ass.

It helps some people sleep at night.

It's bullshit. The crows have had a spirit by virtue of the connection to the supporters from day 1. 50k to a trial FFS.

Always have to laugh at the "no history" thing. There's plenty in a relatively short time. Who are ports Brownlow medalists? Coleman? 100 goals?

The Crows were created before I was born. So as far as I'm concerned, they're just as much of a 'real' club as Richmond or Melbourne

Yep, when exactly does history start to kick in?
