LOL, are they still pushing that supporter led/organic crap.

How delusional are they??

It was Kochies idea (after he saw the Newcastle Jets sing the exact same song) to cross promote the INXS mini series that Ch 7 were airing FFS.

I wonder what their new song will be with the Michael Hutchence mini series Ch 7 are showing.

Listen Like Thieves?
Melting In the Sun?
Devil Inside?
Off topic but how many INXS biopics/docos/reality shows do we need to be subjected to? Bloody hell what are they The Beatles?

Something like 'The Horses' by Daryl Braithwaite would be more apt to get the Power crowd all fired up

The danger with fining players with a 3 strikes and your out policy is that you end up with a Cotchin situation that has now left the AFL world shaking their head. The fact is, Cotchin didn't deserve to get suspended for his hit alone, but neither did Dangerfield on Kruezer. Had it been the regular season he would have copped a fine or a suspension. You can't not give the 3rd fine because it results in a suspension. The fine system is supposed to serve as a warning to players to get their shit together or get suspended. Cotchin is a serial repeat offender who chose to be reckless time and time again. It's not the AFL's responsibility to appease players wants and desires about playing in a grand final by having a punishment of missing the grand final doesn't fit the crime. In this case it does and the AFL were too gutless to make a decision. I genuinly think the AFL should appeal the decision based on the simple fact the MRP have to abide by the rules and not make them up.
I have to say I am conflicted and maybe hypocritical but let them fall where they may.

I do agree the MRP and by extension the AFL have created a huge problem for themselves. They really have opened a can of worms for litigation and injunctions further down the track. The only way I can see them gaining anything out of this is to scrap the whole tribunal system. You quite rightly point out the AFL has softened it so much they allow players to screw up twice and in doing so a 3rd time they are more penalised for stupidity than anything they may have done

The AFL/MRP have also shown the head isnt sacrosanct. Its all words.

Yet on first viewing of the Cotchin incident I was quite comfortable in what had occurred, just as I was in the Sloane/Dangerfield clash. These were , to me, football clashes. Some have said Cotchin targetted Shiel , and I am not 100% certain he did. I wont go to war over it , just my impression. So while I agree the process is wrong and was used incorrectly I am comfortable in the outcome. Hypocrite? Very much but I can also live with that for this week

Kochead - Charlie (Dixon) and Robbie smokies for the Brownlow.

There we have it. Confirmation. The man's a buffoon.
This is how it rolls there.

Maybe also Dixon can be the first PA astronaut with the new space initiative by South Australia !

From the 'Tiser this morning:
"Port coach Chad Cornes would not speak the The Advertiser post-match."

:)
Wait for Rucci to write about this, Port not making themselves accessible to journos.

I bet the next Vic article will be him and Brad are homesick (after we win the GF) ;)
More likely the intense Melb/media drawing power on Belinda Sloane which will undoubtedly cause another Dangerfieldlike Sloane exodus from the Crows. ;)

It was from Dylan Shiel's perspective and opinion, being that Shiel dates his daughter. Shiel has come out and said he feels cheated, and rightly so.
Chocco also went full Lindy at the Melbourne media saying they have a crack at the new and interstate clubs and all slap themselves on the back because they know nobody will argue back.

Also pointed out 3 Richmond high hits that weren't paid as frees.

Did us a massive favour.

Sorry, that was more directed at whoever claimed Choco was an imbecile.
That'd be me

You can't seriously have thought that Cotchin should have missed a GF for that?

And who cares if it's his daughters bf - has nothing to do with it.

The man has always had a big mouth.

He has a point

Everyone's saying ooh Cotchin can't miss the GF for that

Well Shiel missed 3/4's of the Prelim as a result.

Yet Cotchin is the victim?

I like Bickleys idea of wiping the skate clean after round 23

We can't all go the high horse here.

Do you not get how the mrp system works now? Very few people are saying cotchin should miss for that act alone, he should miss based on this being the 3rd separate incident that was deemed worthy of a financial penalty this season.

The afl has now stupidly decided it can pick and choose when a concusssion is deemed as worth a suspension or in this case not even a fine. Every player that copped a suspension this season (including Dangerfield) should feel hard done by if it was driven by the fact another player ended up with concussion.

I think the AFL having integrity is more important. And in isolation, no, he shouldn't miss a GF for that. But it was definitely worthy of a fine when that incident was looked at based on the way the MRP has ruled for the last few years. The collateral damage of handing out a fine should be completely ignored and irrelevant. Shiel could have been instrumental in GWS winning that game, but he wasn't allowed that chance. And the claims that McIntosh hit Shiel high was crap. He didn't get close to hitting him in the head. It was all shoulder.
