1. The AFL basically told us we were wasting our time pushing for a women's team because it was always going to Adelaide due to their desire to increase girls playing the game in SA.

2. Social media reach is great for advertising so long as your demographic is in tune with who you want to sell your product to. It's no good having 700,000 followers if 699,000 have no interest in purchasing the product. I could get 1000 'likes' and not one person actually buys anything for this very reason. And honestly, anyone who determines their purchasing habits based on something so arbitrary like 'they support the team I support' is a ******* dullard.

3. We've signed Cathay Pacific, MJK, AusGold, Haneco Lighting and Shanghai Cred Real Estate on the back of China, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Oh and today makes it 100 days since Port have had a major sponsor.

How does that make the suckers that signed up and paid the full price feel?
 
The two teams are like this :-

Port is Foodland
Adelaide is Woolworths/Coles

Both offer similar product but one is local the other is national, one is owned by local people whilst the other is an ASX listed company.

One offers discounted memberships therefore cheapening its brand (Port), the other knows the value of its brand and people will pay it (Adelaide). Another example, ticket to Port's Chairman function $150- whilst Adelaide $400-.

They don't and will never accept, they will and always will be the little brother.

2. This is one of the main reasons why Port is pissed off with the national exposure we receive next year. When we weren't making finals, we were told that was the reason why. .

Making and losing 1 final isn't making you a drawcard either. Fact is you have a trash brand that you've trashed with all you freebie tickets. Even now, an 11 game membership you flog off for the price of 6! If you don't value your brand why should anyone else?

3. As for ISC and why the Crows sponsorship is higher - why do you think you continually change away jumpers every year? There are some things that we've just said 'Nah, we'll stick with the standard strip'.

Everyone will get sick of it soon enough and it'll get banned again - I think it's infraction points must be adding up to almost a perma by now!

I actually went to a Port game last year as I wanted to show a friend from overseas AO. I was amazed at how much space to walk around there was and how many seats were empty. Made walking around the Oval easier and even my two year old could just waddle around without any fear of running into anyone’s knees. Weather was perfect that night too.

They don't go. Sponsors know this.
They're not only an inferior brand, they are despised by a fair proportion of the state.

Lol. The only people that watched that game were expats and tourists from here, plus some local officials that the SA govt had invited. It's already had it's day.

A guy I work with who went over for the game said exactly the same thing.

He said that from his experience the whole crowd was essentially just a mixture of Port supporters who went over from Australia for the game and expats who live over there. He said to me that while the trip was amazing, the game itself was a bit of a let down because he was hoping to see a crowd mixed with local Chinese people, but outside of a few officials, police etc he did not see any Chinese people at the game. He said that when you were there it just felt like a standard Port home game just at a strange venue.

From what he's said to me, he's been there, done that and won't be going back in 2018.

I think it just gets blocked on here until people are prepared to tolerate it for the inevitable laughs.
It's close to the worst poster on the port board - at least that's what they say !

Different if you have reserved seats etc but for General Admission. ... nah. It's garbage but then what else would you expect?

Um, $200 is the standard price for our GA 11 game membership because we charge more for game day tickets, around $37. That’s why it’s “half price”.

It’s actually gone up by $10 this year - it was $190 last year.

No, it's just advertising. If you bought 11 GA match day tickets, you'd end up paying around $400.

The troll I would use is that you guys are so desperate to get people to sign up you have to sell it on financial appeal and not on the quality of the product.

The dollar.figure for that GA membership is not a.lot different to ours. But we don't advertise it as value for money.

I guess when you buy a Crows membership you will see your team beat most top eight sides at home. Not just belt up on bottom four minnows.

So you can't sell the membership on your teams performances. I guess the "Match Day Experience" angle is also waning.
