Josh Kennedy from WCE is such a soft peanut by finals come. Does nothing for large parts of the game, and isn't required to put any defensive pressure on. Obviously his game can't handle the high tempo pressure game of finals. Weak effort tonight

He's the definition of flat track.

I was having dinner with a couple of west coast supporters who were telling me how disgusted they were with the concept of GWS which they considered a plastic soulless franchise designed to appeal to the local masses and set up to win a flag as fast as possible...

They didn't like it when I pointed out the similarities to their own club.

Name - Vague geographic reference so that they can claim the represent a broad area- CHECK
Inaugural Coach - Legend of the game - CHECK
Incredible Draft concessions that set them up for early success - CHECK

any others anyone can think of? I'm going to use this with these people ll the time now.

Some humorous stuff on the WC board this morning. Shuey for captain next year and challenging for top 4 in 2018 is still a real possibility. Oh - and NN is the messiah (worth 5 goals a game according to one poor soul).
I'm still recovering from looking at Shuey's haircut! He should sue whoever did that to him

I'd rather get smashed by a 100 points developing kids than trying to delay the inevitable by importing delisted players and then getting found out in the second week of the finals.

What was all that about?

And the performances yet again of Jetta, Le Cras, Kennedy, Darling, Wellingham and Cripps in a finals game cannot be ignored.

I was unaware of that stat :)

They seem to think that with NN back next year everything will be OK. the attitude was even if they lose tonight it was a great effort to make the 8 without NN and all that sort of guff. I just sipped my coffee and quietly scratched by balls under the table, all I could do not to just roll my eyes.
With their retirements and looking at what's left of their list I should be overjoyed but I won't sink the boot in just yet. We can all point the finger at them, laugh and speculate on their impending doom but we may be making a rod for our own back if we lose to them next year.
They do seem to be totally misreading their list, and see themselves as genuine contenders. Certainly that is what bringing Mitchell and Petrie in suggests, and with getting some finals games in this year, I think it will continue.

I also think it is what Simpson probably has to go for to save his career.

Sheed, Duggan, Venables and Lamb should be creating all sorts of optimism for the future in the eagles camp. The future. The next wave. Instead their optimism comes from Natanui possibly back. Deary me.

I love watching simmos pressers after the game. "We've been transitioning the list for awhile now". Ahhhhhhhhhh what? Bringing in Petrie and Mitchell isn't transitioning the list! It's topping it up for the delusion of flag success. Wonder if anyone actually buys what he's saying. Probably their supporters?

Possibility that all of those players are on their list for next year.

Yep. He needs to be asked about that. They have brought in quite a few players with experience such as Wellingham, Cripps, Yeo, Hill, Jetta, but sometimes giving up too much for them, and they seem to have stifled the development of their draft picks.

Who do we think they lose from their list this year?
Petrie Priddis Mitchell Hill Crapps Wellingham McKenzie Giles Butler Schofield LeCrap. (There was a whisper that he had already signed for next year)

Just for starters

Yeah Simpson seemed to be blinded by what was happening. The young Aborignal kid (?) who came in seemed to do some good things and Mutimer played few games

Their supporters definitely do! Tell them about the state of their list and they point to all of the youngsters that they're playing like .... Partington, and how bright the future is. They have no idea.

The vast majority of their supporters wouldn't even know who they've got in the seconds or even who of their 22 are under 22. One thing they do know is that the WA media told them they've got future stars like Barrass and Partington and all will be ok.

What about Yeo's absolute balls up that lead to De Boers goal.

You've got the typical brain of a Freo supporter - you know jacks**t. Didn't know you had spoken to every Eagle supporter. You know nothing!
One thing I know is we have about the same amount of delistings to do. Yours are all coming from your best 22 or close to it.

We're delisting from 30-45 on the list. And our middle is still solid.
And we have pick 5
And our youth have played a fair bit...while yours haven't
Enjoy
