For all Teams 2010 - 2016 (7 Full Seasons);
West Coast Ranked 1st with a Free Kick Differential of +491
(North Melbourne next best ranked 2nd with +192.)
Brisbane Lions Ranked Last, 18th with -288.
(Fremantle Ranked 12th with -92)
West Coast is the only interstate team in the top5 highest ranked teams.
5 of the bottom 7 ranked teams are interstate teams (Melbourne and St.Kilda are 16th and 17th respectively).
My theory is that WC were the only interstate team that was an AFL power during the years that the current crop of umpires were growing up and selecting a team to support.

A bit out there I know but how else is it explained, I mean they'd just gone through the drug era when these stats were taken so I doubt the AFL would've been trying to help them.

Based on my theory, we might see Adelaide start to get a good run over the next few years??? And unfortunately we won't get any sort of evenness towards us until 2035!

I used to have a similar theory when meeting girls at bars. Once you know their age you can tell which footy team they support based on whoever was successful at the time they were 12-17. It was remarkably successful!

I don't think you're far off. I think our problems with the media are due to similar biases, with WCE being the first WA AFL team. If Freo had have started in 1987 too, I think things would be different in both regards.

It's a joke hat Margetts officiates any West Coast game.

Don't Premier League refs have to nominate the team that they supported and are then excluded from doing any of their games? AFL should do something similar.

It's more correct to view wrestling as more of a tv show, rather then a televised sport. Although it may be scripted and fake, the outcomes are still unknown to the viewer and in a way that's more thrilling.

Standard TV show you know that in the end the good guy will win. But in something like wrestling it's scripted to make the most drama out of the screen time and therefore takes a much more random approach. I'm personally not really that into it, but I can see the appeal.

I've worked some gigs at the Perth version of the WWE - scripted as it is, some of those guys are impressive athletes and they put their bodies through a lot of punishment.
New Horizons? I've been meaning to go watch a show but haven't gotten around to it.

Explosive Pro Wrestling. I didn't realise there was even a Perth based company before that, let alone multiple ones!

The standard (and crowd) was a lot higher than I was expecting too. I hadn't watched wrestling since I was a kid, but it's a lot more entertaining live and up close than it is on tv.

nah I most probably wouldn't know half the wrestlers by now:D
i do remember when it use to be on f.t.a and me and me bro would get out our blanket/pillow/mattress onto the lounge room floor waiting for it to come on

How was it?
Those were the days :)

Now it's meh, couple of really good superstars, but the story lines are old and incredibly shit. Wrestlemania seems to get worse by the year, I use to watch WWE every week, now I just fast forward and watch about 10-15mins of it (the good bits) or just the highlights on YouTube.

This was the best Mania in a few years IMO. There was as usual a lot of crap things and illogical outcomes but in terms of in ring action it was a definite improvement.

If you want to see good action watch NXT. It is an hour a week and the Takeover specials are always fantastic. The tag team title match from Takeover on Saturday is one of the best tag matches you will ever see and is easily match of the year. Mind you, you can say that for just about every time The Revival and DIY are in the ring together.

I've watched some NXT matches, mostly Finn v Joe because they always put on good ones. I'll give the tag one a go tomorrow, cheers for the heads up.

Also check out DIY v The Revival 2 out of 3 falls from Takeover Toronto. That was a phenomenal match with a perfect ending.

If you have the time and/or interest then check out some of the stuff that Sami Zayn did with Kevin Owens in NXT as they put on some great matches as well.

Got into WWE mid way through the attitude era and lost intrest around 04-05, hard to get back into it when you compare everything to that time in wrestling.
I look back at it with great memories, outstanding entertainment.
Never understood the wrestling is fake thing, TV shows are fake, movies are fake, plays are fake, reality TV is super fake but for some reason its wrestling fans have to cop the "its fake" knock on their chosen form of TV entertainment.

Treat it as just entertainment and it can be great fun....and consider the athleticism those wrestlers show. For people their size to do what they do sometimes for 30 minutes or more is an incredible feat of athletic performance that ordinary people could no way match.

Hell yeah. I remember raw is war as a kid. Love it all the way to the naughties until I moved out to place with no foxtel. Couldn't afford it so I stopped watching it. Some of the stunts they do are amazing and the athleticism of these guys is crazy.

I know its scripted. But i still enjoy it from time to time.

Yeah but how many performance enhancing drugs are they juiced up on? I'm sure they reckon they drug test or something but it would be absolute BS.

They do drug test and wrestlers have been suspended for PEDs. It may have been prevalent 15-20 years ago but it is not as much any more. It also helps that the big, overly muscled guys aren't exactly the 'in thing' at the moment.
