Thought it wasn’t a deep draft? [emoji6]

It's a shallow draft, but there are some good players that will drop late.

It has a clear top 4, but the top 12 are very even.

Rayner is the consensus, standout top pick, but will slide to #4.

There's some top flight KPD options. But it's mostly a midfielders draft. That also has some very good flanker, small forward and ruck prospects.

The top Pi^7 wouldn't be picked in the first eleventy-five hundred from last year's draft.

And we shouldn't even bother with picks this year as next year's draft will be a once-in-six-generation super draft, the likes of which we haven't seen since all the way back in 2013...

Oh well. I’ll take him then

Don't let me change your mind. It's in my interest that you don't :p

But he's been invited to the draft and if a bid comes after 35 I'd expect a match.

Homegrown prospect helps with marketing, decent player, nice scope for improvement.

Don’t want him

GWS will take him in draft night, but fair enough.

Oh well. I’ll take him then

"MINE" :p

Pick 38 - Melbourne - Brandon Starcevich

While the Demons would be itching for a key position prospect at some stage, the value hasn't really been there to this point, so I'm going with an explosive, strong bodied midfield who will supplant guys like Jones and Lewis over time.

Starcevich has speed, agility, power and skill, but perhaps needs to work on his tank a shade or two before he'll earn his debut. That he can work off a flank will make his transition into the AFL even easier. I think he'll go earlier on the day.

Matty411 has drafted very, very well for Sydney for far.:thumbsu:
Appreciate it mate. Wanted to go with needs-based but quality kids with high ceilings. Hope I've represented them well.

Two VIC Country negates any small go-home factor, too. Though both have leadership skills so both good choices. Happy so far.

When we had this problem at Collingwood's last pick, we went to the autopick based on the Bigfooty Official Phantom. Just checked and that would result in :

Pick 40 - Collingwood - Charlie Ballard

Suggest we go with that. No problem with you taking over beyond that Jimmae if everyone is in agreement.

Edit - hadn't seen Jeremias' latest post. Don't care either way. Let's just move on.

As I am playing as the AFL for this draft, happy to skip the Pies for their tardiness and to give McChins something real to sook about.

You have to decide on a Crossley bid @ 40.

Will cost you pick 42, but will turn pick 87 into pick 59.

Pick #40 - Gold Coast - Brayden Crossley

Ruckman - 199CM 105KG - DOB 16/08/99

Generally hesitant with the size of guys like this as a ruckman, at the next level and given there is only a small sample of his forward work and the changing centre bounce rule could also be detrimental to whether he succeeds in the AFL. After considering all that, it is difficult to ignore his performances. Was named MVP for the Allies, averaging 16 disposals and 27 hitouts at the carnival.

During the year, while playing in the NEAFL, came up against two listed Lions players, admittedly only Smith and McInerney, where he gathered 17 disposals, 4 tackles, 33 hitouts, 5 clearances and 6 inside 50's. Crossley is deceptively agile, has a solid kicking action, follows up after a ruck contest and an intimidating tackler in the Mumford mould.
