Pick #52 - Gold Coast - Kane Farrell

Utility - 182CM 74KG - DOB 17/03/99

Farrell had a solid season without being a huge possession accumulator. What recruiters will be attracted to is his speed, agility and being able to play in multiple positions. Rated equal 2nd for his vertical leap, equal 2nd for 20 metre sprint and equal 1st for agility.

Strengths are his skill, composure and a long left foot kick. Has a nice sidestep and given room will gain plenty of metres, although at times will take one too many bounces. What impresses me most is that he has a very good contested game, when used around stoppages.

Need to work on his endurance if he is to take the nest step, but at this stage would make for a dangerous HBF/midfielder

"The Crows released a statement on Monday confirming they had lodged paperwork with the AFL to nominate Jackson Edwards ahead of November’s national and rookie drafts.
“To be eligible for a father-son selection we must first nominate Jackson ahead of the October 31 deadline,” Crows list manager Justin Reid said.
“There are no guarantees for us or Jackson, but there is an ongoing commitment between the club and the Edwards family that we will take Jackson in the rookie draft if he is available.”

For a rival club to take Edwards in the national draft, it would have to place a bid on him. And for the Crows to then pick up Edwards, they would have to match that bid."

If you read the article Adelaide have still have nominated Edwards Father-Son they just aren't picking him in the National Draft and as above it looks like a club still needs to bid on him if they want him.

Pick 53 - Sydney Swans - Toby Wooller
Key Forward - 193cm - 90kg
Oakleigh Chargers - VIC Metro

With a balanced list and both a midfielder and defender in the bank, the Swans could afford to go with best available at this selection. Buddy Franklin and Kurt Tippett are now over the age of 30 so they're in need of a young, strong key forward to join their ranks alongside Sam Reid.

Wooller is a great character - a theme with my picks after selecting fellow Victorian's Lochie O'Brien and Oscar Clavarino - who captained the Chargers in 2017. He also won the club Best & Fairest by a whopping 31 votes as well as finishing 2nd in the TAC Cup goal-kicking with 40 goals.

So he has goal-kicking and leadership in spades, not to mention good footy genes running through his veins - with grandfather Fred Wooller captaining the 1963 Geelong premiership.

He is an excellent shot for goal and has the potential to push through the midfield at different stages. Toby is competitive, consistent and has the drive to make it at the top level. He'd also perfectly balance out the Swans' first two selections - a mature, strong trio with great character that would breathe life into the older Sydney list.

Semantics.

Pick 54 - Brisbane - Hamish Brayshaw

19yo 187cm 91kg

Thought may have had to match a bid on KPP Jack Payne....freebie in rookie draft it seems.
I was amazed Hamish was not taken last year. Plenty impressive, though seemingly a rung below his siblings.
Contested ball, dangerous in the forward half and impressed dividing time as an overager in TAC Cup and for
Sandringham in the VFL, where he reportedly added some outside credentials to his arsenal. What is not to like?

Sorry for the delay, some medical commitments.

Nice pick Matty. I rate this kid. 53 is a steal IMO but I do see him developing as a mid/fwd ala Charlie

Pick #56 - Gold Coast - Jordan Johnston

FWD/MID - 184CM 76KG - DOB 09/09/99

As a forward, has great intensity, applies very good pressure, with great 2nd and 3rd efforts. Has strong hands in a marking contest, while having very good speed and agility and a penetrating kick. As he develops, I expecting to spend more time further up the ground as he can be damaging in tight or on the outside.

58 - Collingwood - Harrison Petty

Expecting this to be the last live pick for the Pies, and they desperately need another tall. I'm going for Petty here because he's a proper rebounding tall defender who will build up his body to hold a key position.

While he's not the best kick of the KPDs on the board here, he's still at a very high level for the position and moves the ball on quickly to keep a side's tempo up, and his general level of decision making also reflects this speed and poise in moving the football.

TerryWallet, you're up.

Pick #59 (GEEL) Brent Daniels

This kid is actually my favorite of the small forwards outside of Higgins. He has Speed(Top 10 at Combine), Agility(Top 3) and Endurance(Top 10 yoyo). He is a natural footballer and looks a tough strong little bugger too. Not afraid to go into a pack to get the footy but also a typical opportunist around goal and up forward.

There is word that the Cats like him too and might take him higher than this. I've picked 3 talls so far, so am happy to add some nip now. Corey Gregson and Linc McCarthy have pretty serious injury issues so can see why they would look this way. BTW, i loved how in those funny little player interviews about which player thinks he should go No1, two guys said Daniels thinks he should go first. All good small forwards need some cockiness and shit in em i reckon.

On talent I had him ahead of Petty, but I was slightly worried about his size at AFL level; even though he's taller than Caleb Daniel, he's not as powerful a runner or contested player as him. Regardless, great pick.

Wrong poster: you're looking for Arr0w

Yeah i'm usually a sceptic on little guys but there's no doubt there is room for more of them than ever before. He has all the hallmarks of a good pressure forward...and they're wanted.

Pick #60 - Gold Coast - Jack Roughsedge

Inside MID - 186CM 88KG - DOB 04/08/98

This kid is an absolute bull on the inside, has quick sharp hands and terrific work rate, whether it be tackling or through demanding the ball with high handball receive numbers. Huge accumulator of the ball. If he gets a run at it, could be the steal of the draft at this pick
