After an extended garbage truck related Internet outage, it's finally time for the return of the Lions player of the year thread! (Thanks to Big Sauce 21 for keeping the updates going in the meantime). To recap: last year's vote was a two man show with winner Dayne Zorko taking the lead after four rounds and holding it to the end while second place Mitch Robinson moved into that position after six rounds and despite a big last two rounds, was not able to run down Zorko who won by three votes. Tom Rockliff, despite an injury affected season, managed to pip Daniel Rich for third place in the last round. Eric Hipwood and Rhys Mathieson tied for best rookie of the year and equal sixth place for the season. Will Dayne Beams manage to avenge his 2015 second place where he was only passed in the last round of the season by Stefan Martin, despite only playing 16 games? Can Mitch go one better followed his third place in 2015 and second place last year? Will a fit Rocky be too strong for the competition? And which of the new crop of draftees will be crowned rookie of the year?
