I guess it's that time of year to have a crack at some predictions for 2017.

Last years thread is HERE if you wish to take a look back at how badly we all did....

As a collective group last year we voted for:

Haw, Port, Freo, WCE, Geel, Syd, WB, Collingwood

So we got 5/8.

Interestingly a whole host of us nailed the Brownlow/Coleman combo in last years predictions.

So here goes nothing ------- I think 2017 will look like this:

My Ladder:
GWS 18 4
WB 18 4
Geel 17 5
Syd 16 6
Adel 15 7
Melb 14 8
WCE 14 8
Port 13 9

Haw 12 10
StK 12 10
Freo 11 11
Nth 10 12
GC 9 13
Rich 8 14
Coll 6 16
Ess 3 19
Bris 1 21
Carlt 1 21

1. GWS - They've arrived! Enough said

2. Sydney - A quality team that are just always up there

3. Adelaide - Another quality team that can take the next step into the Top 4...depending on their midfield.

4. West Coast - The added experience of Mitchell and Petrie will give them one more tilt at a flag. Also strong home ground advantage.

5. Western Bulldogs - Young side still, possibly a tiny premiership hangover

6. Hawthorn - Gradual downfall begins here

7. Melbourne - Exciting young team finally ready to break their finals drought.

8. St Kilda - Similar to Melbourne. Narrowly missed out last year, this young side will take the next step into the 8.

---------------------------------

9. Geelong - Loss of Bartel & Enright, new rule changes could affect game plan and over-reliance on Danger-wood.

10. Collingwood - Another average year sees Buckley shown the door.

11. Port Adelaide - Hate to say it, but I don't see it happening for us this year. Finals or fired for Hinkley!

12. Fremantle - Recruited well, Fyfe back will see gradual improvement in 2017. 16th is too far back to come back into the 8 from imo.

13. Gold Coast - Would want to improve. Eade could be in danger.

14. Brisbane - Gradual improvement, some young talent in there.

15. Essendon - The return of all their players to get them back to where they were before. Further improvement in 2018.

16. North Melbourne - 1000 games experience lost. They're pretty much rebuilding now.

17. Carlton - One step forward, two steps back. Further improvement in 2018.

18. Richmond - Yep, I said it. Big call! Will they fall this badly? I do have a 'Carlton 2015' feeling here.

I predict Charlie will get no frees and SPP will be rubbed out by the umps. Meanwhile Talia and E Betts will continue their gifted runs.

For ****'s sake.

Are you like this in real life? "OneGreatClub, can you take the bins out?" "I bet Daniel Talia never gets asked to take the bins out".

Port can make the eight if we play well against the better sides and are competitive. However, if our form wanes against the weaker teams like it has in previous years that will be the difference between making the eight and not. We have to win the games we should and have a few upsets against the proven teams in the season. Coaching staff have to be ruthless when it comes to dropping players for form. Too many last year had the golden ticket for Hinkley's Chocolate Factory.
