Spoken to a couple of people already but if you want to go to the Bendigo game you will absolutely have to buy a ticket when they first come out.
QEO holds **** all and we always sell out AFL games.
Unless you get there the second gates open you'll be standing most likely. Only one grandstand, unless they put up temporary ones. Thanks for the tip. I'm planning on a road trip for this one.
Remembering the game in Morwell, they said the same for that Saints game with tickets and bugger all turned up with the majority being standing room. Whats this oval like in comparison? Happy to stand in the outer

Here's the preseason thread mate.
Was it predominantly the returning players who you'd expect to be rusty, or was it across the board?
Im convinced i went to school with Simon Conway.http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/2016-11-23/dons-shine-in-time-trial
Top 5: Ambrose, Stanton, Zaharakis, Morgan and Colyer.
BTW. there is a mistake in the members email.
"The Club will then travel to the tropical North Queensland city of Mackay to play the Gold Coast Suns on Sunday February 26th at 3.40pm."
Mackay is Central Queensland.![]()
I've been to watch training a couple of times and thought the same - surprised how often the ball hits the deck. Not sure this is the spot but it is the only pre season thread so...
Have had the chance to pass by training a couple of times have have a quick look for half an hour or so. No time to go into any detail about particular players, they all look pretty fit anyway but i have one concern and it seems to be something that has been around our training for a long time from what i have seen and that is during drills the ball hits the ground way too many times and it is not addressed often enough by either the players or the coaching staff.
Now i say this of the back of seeing training from a few other clubs on the odd occasion in the last 5 or 6 years. Managed to see Geelong pre season in 2011 and the players / leaders where very vocal about it when it started to happen too often and the group was called in a few times to address it .
The club i do a bit of part time work for are very driven when it comes to skill level at training with the leadership group getting very fired up over poor skill levels and i saw the Dogs train once last year and the coaches where right onto that sort of stuff.
As far as coaching goes it was always a focus when i was involved at under 18 level. Not striving for perfection but always looking for improvement so the boys have to run hard and follow up if they put in a poor kick.
Just seems a bit odd to me that we are advancing in so many ways yet one of the basics does not appear to be penalized often enough amongst professional players even at this time of year. One of the best sayings in footy is you play how you train so if you come up short in the skill department do not expect it to magicaly improve on game day.
To sit in the stand? They'll put up a few temporary ones but it still won't be much. Turning up 45 mins beforehand would suffice.
To sit in the stand?
Sure ok good luck with that.
Carlton v Coll sold out last time. No tickets on the gate?To get in on a membership. It'll be packed very early on like the last one was.

Not sure i would call it central Queensland. Being half way between Rocky and Townsville on the coast and 900 odd km north of Brisbane I would class it as North Queensland. Longreach , Blackall or Barcaldine would be Central Queensland.
Which brings me back to my point. There weren't tickets on the gate last time for that one. I was going to go for a look before work but couldn't get in.
Probably won't be until January. It's convenient for them to have all the feel good stories about the returning players and the draftees up until Christmas and then do the leadership group stuff later anyway, but this year it's probably also better to let the players vote and everything once they get to know each other a bit more.Wondering if we will announce a captain soon considering some clubs already have.
