SDFC, Sutherland Spartans FC,
I can't see us playing all 3 of them unless we go with 1 ruckman, which we never have. Clarke or Apeness will take the 3rd spot.
I think you're right although having watched Cam Mac train I don't see him as a genuine KPF. He can certainly take a grab and does play tall but he's also very mobile and seems good below his knees. I see him more as an old fashioned half forward.

I think the question is whether Tabs and The Gorilla can play in the same team.I suspect not. I don't think Zarke has done enough to suggest he can play predominantly as a forward which leaves us looking for a KPF/relief ruckman. I reckon The Gorilla is the better ruck option.

TBH I'd love to be able to play two KPF over 198cm and really stretch oppostion defences, but I don't think the two big fellas are agile or quick enough defensively to allow that.

Would it really stretch defenses? If our defense is typical Dawson, Pearce, MJ and Hamling would be decent match ups, and Collins possibly too. Ibbotson has even handled talls. I think McCarthy and Kersten may create more match up headaches than Apeness and Taberner because of their mobility, and because of our very mobile smalls.

The only reason I'd ever bother to go down to training wouldn't be to see the players but to meet the legendary coulda.
He's so legendary he doesn't come down often as he doesn't need to anymore. He was down once in this past week but before that was not seen for weeks but his brother was attending but he has disappeared to. Coulda hangs out under the Clubhouse verandah with the rest of us old Dudes.

Pay close attention to Subes this morning, guys. I want to know whether to put money on him for the Doig Medal, or just an All-Australian gig.
There must be something special about him that turn me from hater to lover . So put all your money on subes. Hawthorn got the chance to get him on the cheap during b.hill trade , I think they will regret now .

Was down at the oval this morning, but because it was more a nostalgia trip than a serious recon trip, I can't give a super detailed report, just random snippets here and there. Didn't stay long, maybe about 45 minutes? Got to see a lot of running and kick-to-kick. It's hard to spot guys as there are so many new faces!

Random thoughts:

Logue - doesn't look out of place size-wise, but I think will need a couple of pre-seasons to build full AFL fitness. Tried hard, sticky hands, pretty agile - but shanked a few when tired.

Cam - he's the whitest guy out there, and I agree that the one who least looks like a footy player. But I'm impressed by his agility and kicking ability, hopefully he will be a good get for us.

Walters - super kick, super effort, very vocal. He and Brad were having a fun competitive time of it in the tackling drill.

Fyfe - running really well, ready to go. Was training with the big guys and mids in turn.

Sandi - same as Fyfe, running well. Johnno and Griff with the main group as well.

Darcy - losing the chunk, bless him. :)

Field kicking was pretty good in the kick to kick, with no pressure of course.
