Because professional recruiters are known to always get it right.
No, but at this stage they're far more qualified to back their calls than self-appointed Bigfooty analysts like yourself.

Calls it the "annual dumbest thread of the year" but just has to read it and post in it.
Your visible vexation further proves me correct. Sorry, it's a hilariously stupid thread, and that stupidity is matched by anyone making claims about clubs "winning" or "losing".

Think you just tweaked your Groin ,
Gresham already there champ .
But typically North just keep flogging that dead horse in past players because it seems like your rebuild is modelled on the same thoughts .

Do you mean Gresham as in Jade Gresham? He is already one of St Kilda's most exciting players. The guy has already made it in my opinion.

Gresham won't make it? Haha thank you for confirming that you have no idea. 2 years into his career and he's already a gun.
You all clearly have low expectations. "Already a gun"

He is at the same level as hrovat. If gresham is a gun what on earth did that make boomer?

More concerning is the inflation of lowercase letters to capitals without any discernible reason.

Gresham had over 60 shots for goal this year in just his 2nd season and in his last game kicked 5 goals- against the team who won the premiership a month or so later no less- for which he was awarded the most votes anyone received in an individual game this year in our B&F. He also came top 10 overall in the B&F, in just his 2nd season.

Last year Champion Data rated him highest per position out of any position/role, out of the whole 2016 Rising Star class (or at least for those in their first seasons).

He's not a "gun" from an overall comp perspective yet, but he is for his age and is well on the way to being considered that for any age, I would have thought.

I must admit I had not done any research what so ever on any of our 3 draft picks but now we have them, looking at their highlights and what their former coaches have said I am quite excited. Ling and Stoddart are both players the Swans really need in an attacking halfback who can kick. Ling especially is supposed to be a great decision maker as well.

I know when Jones goes for runs out of defence it opens everything up and makes it much easier for the Swans to score so run out of defence has clearly been something the Swans have targetted in this years draft. I love players who can and are very willing to take the game on and run past or through packs of other players.

As for McCartin, well it is hard to tell at this stage but I like that he is very young (30th of December was his date of birth), and he seems to be a very hard runner. Apparently needs to fix his kicking though so I hope the next year while he is at school when he comes to Swans HQ he spends most of his time in the gym and with Tony Lockett.
Jump on YouTube and do a search for Matthew Ling. Forget all the highlight videos and find his school media video. Club might want to start working on that future pick trade for 2020.

Of course they are, I don't see anyone disputing that, only sharing their own opinions, but the simple fact is that as qualified as they, history shows that clubs can butcher entire drafts, sometimes for a few years in a row, and I'll bet that there were plenty who you reckon know SFA compared to them who thought at the time that they didn't do well, so as a result, and until clubs start getting things 100% right, threads like these will continue, just for a bit of fun (something that I get the feeling you don't have a lot of, if these posts are anything to go by!).

Who said you weren't entitled to express your opinion? I'm just saying you're stupid if you think now's the right time to apply the label winner or loser based on nothing.

Boomer is a retired legend of the game. Don't really see your point there. As for Hrovat well Gresham is 3 years younger and many times better than Hrovat. I notice that Hrovat played 22 games this year for you though, so your statement that Gresham "won't make it" but is on the same level as a player that played every game this year doesn't really add up.

Why is that? I found a video that had his name on it, but it was odd as it seemed to indicate he had been drafted to Geelong. I guessed it was not him.

Good effort developing his outside game in 2016 when he missed the entire year.

You do know it's not all done in game mode, yeah?

Knowing the Stingrays people well enough, they have told me last year was as important a year for LDU as his previous 3 years in an elite system. The development he showcased through coaching stints, off field homework was absolute first class.

I'll back in my source to note what type of player he was 24 months ago to who he is now. A vastly different and superior, more balanced (inside/outside) player with every opportunity to become a 200 game AFL player.

So you rely on him too much and is 50/50 in front of goal.

Hrovat is a fringe player and if he doesn't take the next step will be gone in a couple of years. Gresham is just another green/banfield.
