Crows winners for getting the best player to come out of South Australia for quite some time. Not sure how he fits into their forward line though.

We cut two from our list.

I reckon 3 on the main list, 1 Rookie is the way to go. Plenty of good ruckman still to go. Redhead and Sweet should be in the mix in the rookie draft for you guys

Carlton clearly liked something in De Koning - Enough to warrant taking him at pick 30. It's not like this was a super draft, anyway. The top 5 look decent, the next 10 or so are probably 50/50, then there's 15 or so guys who can play roles for their teams and a bunch of speculative picks

To be honest, I thought De Koning was a reach. Then i looked at the next 10-15 players drafted and I'm not sure any of them are 'better talents', and there's no one I'm really pissed we overlooked. Maybe De Koning never plays a game, but in that range of the draft I reckon you just take your man, and clearly SOS did

Edit: oh, and I thought it worth adding that De Koning isn't really a ruckman. He seems to have played mostly as a KP forward this year, best attributes are aerial marking and goal kicking... not many KP stars in the 30s in the draft, but I think he's a fairly recent basketball convert so who knows

Pretty happy with the Dees picks. Can’t say we were winners. The players were picked pretty much around about were they were rated.
Interestingly on the Fox coverage post draft someone mentioned Spargo was tracking top ten before this year when he was injured a lot.

I felt like we took risks about players we wanted sliding and none of them paid off.

Carlton would really want Dow to deliver, otherwise their entire draft haul has massive bust credentials.

Just watched the draft, my biggest winner is the Brayshaw family. Both boys drafted, and both off to WA (despite different clubs), geneuinely happy for them.

And they both get to see grandpa and grandma more often.

Even if people think we took the wrong guy/s, we still picked up two kids who were consensus top-5 talents in this draft. I'll fight anyone who says we "lost", Freo fans included
