Some of the ones on my list...

I'd probably have Matthew Day as towards the top of the list of best quality remaining. Probably too similar to North though, so we won't take him.

I still think Nathan Krueger has got something and because he can play as a defender or big midfielder I'd still be considering him. I think both he and Chris Scott have enormous potential and their versatility with their height and elite speed means you aren't locked in to using them in one position. Also might fit the right balance with a tall winger/half back, lock down defender and ruck/forward we have on our rookie list.

If we are looking for another dangerous small/med forward then Francis Kinthari, Cody Ninyette, Adam Sambono, Jordon Johnston and Patrick Farrant are all still available. All have various pros and cons. Although with Matera traded in and Crowden and Switkowski taken in the draft I'm not sure we'll go this way now.

Zareth Roe and Gordon Narrier are two local names that have a lot of exciting "outside" attributes you can work with. Although I'm not sure I'd take them ahead of some of the names above. They'll likely spend another year in WAFL and we can revisit them as late/rookie picks next year.

Can't see us looking at Hayden McLean or Joel Amartey now - both have some good attributes though. And there is no way we'll get a shot at Tom Lamb by the time pick #5 comes around.

Matthew Day - 189cm Medium Midfielder, athletic former basketballer
Nathan Krueger - 196cm KPP from SA, elite speed and agility, versatile
Chris Scott - 193cm Key Defender from East Freo, elite speed, interceptor, rebounder, plays small and tall
Francis Kinthari - Small Forward from NT, x-factor, goal kicker, dangerous, 24yo
Cody Ninyette - 175cm Small Forward from Perth, small frame, elite skills, goal kicker
Adam Sambono - 182cm Forward from NT, dangerous goal kicker, NEAFL Rising Star
Jordon Johnston - 185cm Forward from GWV, solid, goal kicker
Patrick Farrant - 185cm Medium Forward from Swan Districts, raw, contested marking, goal kicker
Zareth Roe - 187cm Half Back from Perth, skillful and composed playmaker
Gordon Narrier - 187cm Outside Mid from Perth, great skills, playmaker
Hayden McLean - 196cm KPF/Ruck, strong mark, mobile
Joel Amartey - 196cm KPF/Ruck, athletic, can play defence
Tom Lamb - baaaaaaaa

Luckily we don't have to wait weeks anymore. The Preseason and Rookie drafts will be happening on Monday at 5pm AEST. Technically, I think we have a pick in the PSD. But I assume we'll pass, like everyone else. Which brings us to the rookie draft.

Someone will post a full draft order soon, but it follows the same order as yesterday. So we'll have the 5th pick in every round. Last year we went in with 6 rookies, and have retained 3 - Nyhuis, Duman and Strnadica. But I think we'll only have 5 this year, going in with an extra player on the senior list.

So that would leave us with picks #5 and #23.

So who's available? Lots of people. The AFL website has a list of 10 players here. Given the talk pre draft, there's probably a good chance that Angus Styles is our first pick. There was a little bit of whispering around Flynn Appleby and Joel Amartey, the latter probably unlikely given the two rucks we picked up. I know everyone will want Nathan Kreuger, but I don't see that happening personally.

I think a lot of clubs will be going for mature aged players or at least 19 year olds, with the depth dropping off now. I think we may follow suit, with someone like a Bailey Banfield. Or perhaps pick up a local small forward.
Don't reckon we could carry Krueger anyway. We are already really tall.

Chances of one of the NT boys Chris? Sambono or Kinthari?

Is there anyone bar Chris Scott from the EF Colts side being talked about? Usually there's a few from a WAFL Colts premiership team that get pushed up as draftees.

Ideally medium forward and KPP will be great. Please NO Peel players , maybe next year if there is any good one.

This. We missed our opportunity to get a good Peel player (rightly so too - didn’t need KPD with such a high pick). Look at West Coast with Gorter last year - gone after one season.

Quite a few of their best players are bottom agers (eg O'Reilly, Joyce). So perhaps look out next year ;) They are more a champion team than team of champions though (well coached). Although Chris Scott was sensational in that GF - I have yet to talk to someone that went to that game that didn't rate him as bog. I think he had like 8 intercept marks. What I like most is he is clearly still very raw - can only imagine his ceiling if he is willing to work hard.

Another Eastern Ranges product which will add to the list of Cerra and tom North.
Ave Disposal 22.4 In Tac Season and ave 19 Disposals from 3 under 18 games and clearance is the best weapon averaging 5.6 per game which is in the top 5 of all invitees at national Combine...

But may not be available for our PICK 5..................

But may be a tripple hand Cuff if available
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-11-26/clubs-use-handcuff-tactic-on-new-draftees

But the knock on him is kicking efficiency of 45.7 which is bottom 5 in combine and speed which is below average....(but burst speed is fine)
But if James Worpel can be Pick #45 ,(kicking efficiency 43.6% at TAC Season) he can very well be a rookie...(Mynott Kicking eficiency is 45.7 in TAC Season....)
Worpel was projected to go in the draft 30+ range and Mynott around 40+.......... But he is still there ,may be because he is lightly built than worpel and worpel is a ready made who can play in the 2018 season itself while Mynott may take some time....

why not we give a chance as a rookie.................?

I feel like Pick 5 we should get a nice small forward, I still rate Kinthari highly so I'd take him there
Pick 23 I reckon it's gotta be best available, and I reckon Chris Scott still will be there

Pick 5 - Francis Kinthari
Around the Mark: Cody Ninyette, Liam Baker, Jordan Johnston, Adam Sambono

Pick 23 - Chris Scott
Around the Mark: Bailey Henderson, Trent Mynott, Jonty Schraenberg, Callan England

I personally really want England, Sambono and Ninyette but I think they need another year to develop

club mate selection

Pick 5 - Angus Styles ( Andrew Brayshaw)
Pick 22 - Jordan Johnson ( Meek )

We are supposed to be right into Styles aren't we? Probably a good call.

I liked the sound of JJ early in the year but his stocks seemed to have plummeted. Personally I hope we are in for one of the NT lads if going for a small forward. Get the X-factor.

Otherwise that Chris Scott fellow sounds alright.

I did a quick rookie draft on the phantom board. Fremantle ended up with Lachlan Murphy and Bailey Banfield. Not quite who people on here are hoping for.

Murphy is training with the Crows at the moment, but that doesn't mean we can't steal him. Ready to go 19 year old small defender, a bit of competition for Nyhuis wouldn't be a bad thing. Also means Wilson and Ryan could play solely attacking roles. I have no reason to think we're actually keen on him though. While Banfield just adds to our young midfield.

What's the knock on Bailey Henderson Chris? Some have him going and others don't, including you. Seems to polarise?
