2017 Rookie Draft

In previous years the rookie draft is the draft that makes up for some misgivings (as far as i'm concerned anyway) in the main draft but with only 2 picks and not a lot of talent available I'm just not as enthused.

An x-factor forward would be nice or another big project forward, don't want Redhead or Krueger though. Redhead is soft as and Krueger is too Marco Paparone for me.

I'd love Matthew Parker from South Fremantle, he's got the x-factor that appeals and IMO will be a player if introduced to a professional (AFL) football environment.

Roe, Scott, McLean, Styles and Johnston also appeal.

Parker would be bad for the culture reasons atm. Get him to mature in the wafl system for the next few years , then go from there.

I've only seen him play one game and that was on TV but Matthew Parker from South Freo was pretty impressive in that game , especially for a guy who came from amateurs footy a year ago (is that right?) And Chris Scott from East Freo

I would like us to still grab Kreuger or Butts and then probably out of Mynott and England (the latter probably)
The risk is probably great with KG but the upside would be tremendous if he came on.Butts very good prospect to develop too. Mynott and England i think would succeed but need body development so rookie is ideal. England apparently has a big tank (from Sumich and high praise as well) , can run all day.

We’ve lost a couple of defenders in Weller and Ibbotson so we should top up there imo. I would say the same about KPDs but we clearly had too many this year - draft a KPD next year when we no longer have Johnson.

Parker strikes me as the one who is most likely to be star quality, someone who is next year's Tim Kelly.

Perth NBN accidentally makes him select Tom Lamb instead of Kinthari. Tries to make up for it - thinks he selects Sambono next pick but Lindsay Thomas gets locked in.

We have cox,tabener,McCarthy,kersten,apeness,Dixon as our tall forwards surely we don’t need any more tall forwards. Unless we delist some of them but that won’t be for a while now you would think. For smalls we have ballantyne,Walters,matera and to the lesser extent crowden. If anything we need smalls. Ballantyne is almost done and Walters should be in and out of the midfield

I want a couple of raw players with big potential upside. Was all about getting a KPD but I think since we still have Johnno this year we are probably ok. Will definitely need one next year.
