so Hibberd, Otten, Barrett, Pickett, Florent and Eddy all a chance at being dropped
however you would think Otten, Barrett and Eddy are safe considering their sides won

Real pity about Smith. He was looking good (albeit briefly). Any prognosis yet? Might be a forced rookie correction... but if there's nobody to trade TO then... hold I spose.

Lever played in the SAAFL and was in the best players.
Eddy is was abit wet and what I saw he didnt get many chances with ports i50s.
Piglet was poor but marley also had ten touches.

Macgrath was the only one that looked like he was capable of being anything more than a bench player, should average 80 - 90 and JS looks safe. SPP was okay but i expect him to be inconsistent but hopefully can make some cash early.

Really disappointing by Jack Bowes, was thinking he might be a chance to step up into a good player.

What about Marchbank from your team?

Looking at Marchbank vs McGrath correctional trade for shoring up my defence.

JLT form, price, potential to make money, job security and team played for.
Simple really.

Apart from job security which I believe is even at best (in fact I personally think Parfitt will play more), Parfitt wins all of those other categories.

Parfitt is 50k cheaper, will play in a team that wins more games, and will consistently get 60s, so will increase in money value much more. In the JLT series, Bowes played 60 mins for 35 SC points, and 72 mins for 39 points - ordinary in comparison.

So.....

Parfitt......comfortably.
job security is suspect.

What we do know is that the club loves the versatility Blicavs provides. Won't be dropped.
Seemingly love the defensive efforts and pressure that Cowan provides.

So who to drop for Guthrie, Kolo and Selwood (even Menegola). Parfitt will get a taste but I don't see him staying in long. He may not even make it past Guthrie's return to the side.

Bowes' 65 turned out to be my third highest scoring rook behind Butler and SPP. Both Bowes and Ainsworth started looking alright in the second half to me. Ainsworth in particular.
The performance of youngsters playing their first game is heavily dependent on how the more established guys go around them. If the team is down usually they go way down with it..and GC's first half was a bloody disgrace. As they fought back 2nd half and became competitive suddenly Bowes and Ainsworths numbers werent too bad.

In relative terms across the weekend, these two largely ignored GC rooks were actually half impressive.

Ainsworth in particular (similar to McGrath and Taranto) in that there's a chance he'll be an excellent milker.

Dont think Rocket will get the knives out YET. Fiorini had a good game for the magoos and is a likely inclusion next week...doesnt help. Bowes is a solid hold till Rocket gets out the hatchet...purely dependent upon how GC goes.
Talking my book a bit here, but i'm holding Bowes and looking very closely at picking up one of Ainsworth or McGrath next week. McGraths DPP obviously an advantage at the price will keep Ainsworth under the radar. He looked at home at this level.

Otten was one of our best down back yesterday. His excellent ball use puts him ahead of Kelly and Hartigan for me. Kelly should be the one to make way for Lever.

Marchbank will be okay, imagine he will end up averaging mid to low 70s like most key positioned backs.. I have him in my side he will make a bit of cash and then flick him for someone who can avg 80-90s
