Just thought I would have a crack at this one

FB: Saad May Harbrow
HB: Hanley Thompson Kolo
C: Rosa GAJ Hall
HF: Martin Lynch Lyons
FF: AhChee Wright Garlett
R: Nicholls? Swallow Miller
B: Day Fiorini Sexton Lonergan

Hoping Witts arrival makes it a battle for the No.1 ruck position. Makes Tommy work extra hard and come out swinging next year.
Dont see Trent Mac or Matera making best 22 anymore.
Whats everyone else thoughts?

I do like this thread.. I will have a crack later, but Mckenzie is definitely best 22 down back pushing Hanley onto the wing and Hall to the bench... not sure Garlett gets a spot and I think Bowes and Ainsworth* would be close

HF Bowes 2MP Taranto

Ruck Currie Miller Hall*

Interchange
Fiorini-Day -Sexton -Scheer

I've gone fair rebuild.

Abuse away. :D

I'm not playing favourites anymore.

And to be truthful Day only got a game because he can switch between forward/ruck/and defence all reasonably. More so back up ruck though.
As a genuine forward I wouldn't pick him though.
We're to big and slow. When we play attacking fast football.. gets to our forward line and comes back out twice as quick.

Big year from Lonergan and Sexton IMO. Lonergan has shown glimpses but has been held back by injury and whatnot. This is his year though. Got a bit of the Josh Kennedys about him in that he is an absolute bull but you don't want him giving it to someone more than 5m away. He is no longer the muscular ball with puppy fat, he is just a beast now and is ready to be unleashed in the middle to help the kids. Same for Sexton really. He has shown he can be best 22 and can play in the guts. He can play a run with role, he has speed, he just struggles with composure. But its time for him to step up to the next level. He is more than capable.

Hopefully Hallahan has a big pre-season as well. There is no excuse for him not to be in the team. We are crying out for hardened mids yet he can't manage a consistent gig.

Is it awful for me to want to still get Barlow if he is available...

Could change but that is how it looks for me at the moment.

Nicholls v Witts is a big one for me, Nicholls is getting better around the ground and lays tackles in the contest, but Witts being 209cm would be enticing to give our midfielders first use of the pill.

If we don't have injuries next year the NEAFL team will be a cracker just about unbeatable l reckon.

Does anybody have any connection to find out if getting Barlow as a DFA is a real option for us a strategy or are we done with mature talent for this year?

Also what are our options regarding delisting more players this year, what is the final deadline, there must be rules so that players cant be dropped at the last minute without options to find other clubs

Martin is at forward pocket.
Hall I had skipped by accident. Will change with Lonergan
Ah Chee was close..
As for harbrow. Costs to many turnovers. Wait and see approach

Harbrow came 2nd in B&F , not sure coaches agree with you , and can't see him being replaced by a 18yo rookie.

I really love that it's so hard to pick the best 22 now.

Just need the injury curse to fook right off and look out.

I might wait until after the draft before having a go at this.

I like this but I still have a soft spot for Fishy Matera
I think in a fully fit team where he becomes our crumbing forward he could really start to shine
At this stage I'd have him on the bench over Garlett

I would delist Schade, Brooksby and maybe Shaw
