Prediction 2017 Round 1 Starting 22

i would be for de listing West and having a look at Jared Witts, is only 23 so would not be at his peak yet and even though i have not seen a lot of him to me he looks like a decent back up ruckman. Martin, Smith and Witts would be a good age profile ruck division going forward IMO.

Witts would be an upgrade on Daw for sure.

Yeah, like the look of Witts, was always very highly regarded as a junior.

He could be our No 1 ruck in 2-3 years....

Dawson hasn't come on at all like I expected he would.. I thought he was drafted as a midfielder, but hasn't shown anything to suggest he'd be capable of playing there.

Dawson had always been far better suited to a Defence/Forward role I've felt. He's shown some signs but had some very poor games too.

I like the senior team, looks pretty close to mine.

Although, l don't think William is quite ready to be best 22. If we are struggling to find Key defensive posts, we aren't going to get rid of a decent young defender. Gardiner has shown plenty imo, would still barely be getting a game at most clubs because he is still so young.

Too many unproven,also rans.Bastinac,Paparone, Robertson, C Beames are well down, hopefully there will be 3 or 4 new faces of real talent ,and Taylor will be running through tbe midfield like he should have been 2 seasons ago.

IMO everyone after skinner on the above is on notice for next season and I'd add lester to the list too only picked ahead of Keays as I think Keays benefits from a season of strength and learning in the reserves. Shame too many of them are signed beyond that. Not saying they are all cooked but need to show signs of life this year.

And that further deep cut next year is why getting a likely top 10 2017 first rounder for Hanley is a great move

Shes young as buggery.. gunner cop a few serious floggings.. would prefer a senior defender or two, but ive called for that the last 3 years.
