For the 1st time this preseason i have changed my ruck combination from Gawnilands. In order to fit Roughy and Rockliff into my team I've cut Gawn, moved Ryder to my rucks and upgraded a mid-pricer (Murphy) in my mids to Rocky. My thinking is that Rocky and Roughy +100k will outscore Gawn and Murphy. My midfield now consists of 5 600k+ premiums & Fyfe and Beams. I'm happy to wait and see how the rucks go before spending big in that area. I'll be keeping a close eye on Gawn, Mummy, Goldy, Stef, Grundy etc

Nicholls and Currie both not training with the main group.
Witts at R3 firming for Tox (god help me)
Witts? THE Jarrod Witts?? Ex Pies **** Witts??? Slow as ****, hack, shit campaigner Witts????

:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I'm going down with the rest of you campaigners, Gawnlands all the way.:thumbsu:

But F@%k Ryder, 180k in the kitty for "BREAK RUCK GLASS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY," for me.

Shhhhhhhh

But Toby N is your man

Gawnstein for me. Bemused to see so many people take Ryder, he has been hugely disappointing at Port and no reason to think after a year off he'll be any better.

Really.... maybe you were watching a different Ryder

If you remove Gawns games against Port (jackson Trengove) what happens to his average?

Put Ryder in there or even Lobbe when he was a player of ability

And then decide if Gawns price tag can be justified

Its risky, But a Martin Sandilands combo could be the best pick. Both of them have recent super premo scoring histories and are priced dirt cheap. If you grab em both it give you an extra premo over gawnstein. Obviously more risk, but it would shoot you up the rankings. This may be my strategy this year-Rolled gold in the def and mids, with risk in rucks and forward half.

Agree with the bolded.

I won't be selecting Gawn - overpriced!
Ryder and Sandi are best value IMO.
Dont mind Goldie, Jacobs or Martin with those price tags either.
I'll most likely have Ryder in a Forward spot as well.

Thinking the same thing, Jacobs and Sandi with Ryder FWD

Ha Jocobs was ordinary in 2015,

Jacobs as an pick this/last year has shown nothing to be picked this year, not for me.

Would rather take Giles...or not.

Okay how's 2018 planning going for ya.

I can't bring myself to ignore Sandilands as R2 with the rule changes and his amazing price. I know he probably won't last the season but if he lasts a good 8 or 9 rounds he will be a straight upgrade to a genuine premium second ruck and will allow us to squeeze an extra premium in at the same time.
Simply too good potential to ignore.

Gawn I think will just score a shit ton of points and will be my other choice.

If Sandilands gets injured then I will weight up between Goldstein, Brodie and Martin and go in for the set and forget option.

Not willing to touch Giles - I reckon he might only average about 70-75

I'm not sold on Gawn

Take away his games v Port (trengove) and I'll need to have a squiz at who he beat up on.

Hmmmm...that'd be a big bold move indeedy
Scores over 120 im looking at:

Round 3 v North - 172 SC Opponent: Goldstein 172 SC
Round 5 v Richmond - 160 SC Opponent: Maric 81 SC
Round 7 v Gold Coast - 174 SC Opponent: Currie 91 SC
Round 10 v Port - 167 SC Opponent: Trengove 59 SC
Round 16 v Freo - 141 SC Opponent: Griffin 48 SC
Round 17 v St Kilda - 124 SC Opponent: Hickey 104 SC
Round 18 v West Coast - 128 SC Opponent: Lycett 116 SC/Giles 38 SC
Round 20 v Hawthorn - 168 SC Opponent: McEvoy/Ceglar 47/56 SC
Round 21 v Port - 151 SC Opponent: Lobbe/Trengove 69/79 SC

My thoughts exactly
Freo Port Gold Coast Tigers will all be better equipped to curb Gawns dominance

I'm now toying with lots of very different options

I think Giles going solo ruck could go 85-90. But only 15 games in last 3 years so hard to get a good read on him.
