Mummy?
Hickey?
Nankervis?
Tippett?

Anyone bar Witts for the love of your SC season :D

Mummy is on the downside, Nankervis is more expensive, but Tippett is one I've had on the back burner as another option. I'd probably have locked him in if he was still DPP.

I reckon with the no 3rd man up, Gawn is going to sky rocket again.
Had another big pre season, photos of him even smashing himself on Christams day and New Years day. I reckon he will rival Danger for the top scoring player this season

If Gawn goes up again he will be one of the highest scoring players in the history of SC. That seems unlikely at best.

Agree that dpp would make Tippett very appealing

If Nankervis is R1 with no megan gale I'd be very interested

Witts is terrific value and will play a heap at GC this year, seriously contemplating it and he allows me to get another Premo Mid in.

Hmmmm.

Mite play a heap but will he score 85s?

Thats about what id expect from a 210k rookie,

With full game times and the new rules i reckon he can get very close and make some decent coin than upgrade him when he peaks and the rucks are more settled come the Bye rounds.

Witts at R2 needs serious consideration and i just swapped him for Goldy which allowed me to get either T Adams or D Shiel into my team for a bench rookie.

Big Pre season watch on Witts.

But why though. He wasn't putrid the year before.

Had a quick look at Jacobs last week and aside from the reduced HOTA, probably due to no Danger, his work around the ground seems to have dropped off. Disposals and marks were down a bit from his '14 and '15 numbers. These may be a reflection of the injury he was carrying have some effect on his ability to work around the ground or possibly a slight change in how the Crows move the ball from half back to the forward 50.

Few less HOTA, a mark or 2 less and a few disposals less per game can easily explain the 20 point drop in average.

If he's not fully fit (which he's not) I won't be starting him.

There's really not much out there, is there. I didn't want to start Gawn because I can guarantee that he's going to regress to some degree, but Goldy and Sandi are injured, Sauce suffers from Danger's departure, NN is obviously out, Grundy is a so-so option, and I reckon Brisbane is going to pick Archie.

Witts is looking more and more tempting. :vomit:
Damn, I remember the good old days, first picked Cox and Sandi. Then the rest of the squad was done.
Now, just toooo damn hard. Grrr

The burning question for me is how Brisbane will use Martin this year - primarily the first ruckmen, or a pseudo forward target...
No Leppa

But Archie might play who knows with Fagan

Hipwood, Schache, Walker, Close, Freeman, McStay - the Lions already have enough taller attacking options, Martin will be a 100% ruck.

That is very much what I am predicting and hoping. Archie is the concern, from the words I'm reading on BF...

Hickey is an interesting one. At the age where a 100+ point ave breakout could happen. Could also end up with an average closer to 80.
Surely you spend the extra 30k for a possible 110 avg from Stef

Do you really need ryder as F4 dpp if eg you got gawn and martin as ruck 1 and 2
I'm only taking Ryder because I think if he's Port's number 1 ruck all season, he'll finish in the top 8 forwards by end of season.

His DPP is just a bonus.

Not as silly as it sounds and i am thinking of dumping Goldy and starting one of either English / Cameron / McCarthy depending who plays after the JLT you just need to make sure you have Ruc/Fwd DPP available to switch to whoever is playing!

The money saved allows an extra Premo player in any possy able to be brought in, but i doubt i will do it as it is so hard to find a rookie ruck that is going to play but if one comes up i am all for starting a rookie ruck at R2.

Besides Gawn everyone is either banged up/horribly over priced or just plain rubbish this season SC wise.

It has merit. Blicavs was a popular cheap R2 a few seasons back. I think the overall winner started with that strategy. Question is, who's available? Witts is not the answer, trust me.

Yep that's correct they had Blicavs.

Was looking that up the other day.

In all fairness though it is only Pies supporters shit canning Witts for obvious reasons which i am turning a blind eye to currently.

He does not need a 90+pt average ( no one expects it either ) but a solid 70-80pts a week is massive for him and will make you cash while the Premo you brang in that he allowed is the difference maker.

Start Goldy then.

Who am i to tell you what player to start!

I don't see anyone making a case for Witts being a star but from a SC perspective i like him and give me another 200k Ruck that is most likely to play every game?

Blicavs had massive doubters to in a strong Cats team and was nothing more than a glorified marathon runner FFS at the time.

im not starting Goldy though

Gawn/Ryder for me

IF Witts gets the 95-110 scores in JLT, then im sure a lot more people will consider going that route.
history suggests not

Good luck to you then!

Team structure wise Witts is allowing so much more flexibility though and will play every game if not be the No.1 GC ruck come Rd10.

Obvious reasons? Surely you're not suggesting that we're dirty because he left? LOL. The honesty answer is no, we're not dirty, in fact were cleansed. The honest answer is most Pies supporters shitcanned him as a Pie.....because he was shit. He's a below average tap ruckman & does absolutely nothing around the ground. Nothing. Not to mention he is slow as ****. He wasn't known as **** Witt for nothing!

The only blind eye you'll have is a result of him having shit in it! This is an honest answer of one Pie brother extending an olive branch to a nemesis. Stay away ;)

I'll happily take Witts if he dominates in the JLT and if he'll be rucking solo
The bloke is 210cm tall, surely he can get a few hitouts to advantage

This does not change the fact that I think he's the slowest human in the world, and he is a massive spud
