I'm betting he won't make it ......looks too similar to the Bulldogs Cordy who was not as thin, and on the list for 6 years fattening up ......he's a huge risk of being a bust

Touted for his mobility ......he can't ruck at his weight

He was a midfielder not that long ago. He grew like 40cm in 3 years which leant him to being a mobile ruckman.

He won't bust. He needs to put on muscle to match that growth spurt before being an elite ruckman, but he has enough ability to contribute early. It might just have to be out of necessity.

Ayce Cordy was 78kg when drafted. English 92kg

Nah never .....who told you English was 92kg ? :p

WOW just Googled the article where he says he had a target of 92kg and had reached 90kg b4 the draft ......that really surprised me given what i saw at the championships

The Bulldogs website says 87kg ......but given you're probably right re weight, i am still very dubious of his future, as he's a poor mans Luenberger (playing style) who was rated an absolute star in his draft year .....the best seen apparently

Any chance B Preuss plays round one. Have only seen him in JLT series, however, me like. If he continues to spear all his team mates, surely he plays. No dual position is a little annoying.
Well, there is one thing compared to this time last season. He's better than Grimley. Not that that's saying much.

so Grundy now finds himself in my R2 spot, but I really don't like him there

He averaged 95.7 SC points, with 18.5 disposals and 26 hitouts a game last year
That's 3 disposals and 2 hitouts a game more than 2015, for an increased average of 5.1 SC points

Now in the two seasons Stef averaged 111, he averaged 22.5 disposals and 28 hitouts in 2014, and 21.5 disposals and 32.5 hitouts in 2015

Even if he adds another 3 disposals and 2 hitouts a game, I'm not confident his average will go over 100

Have we been too spoilt in the rucks the last few years where a ~100 average is not good enough?

There's not a huge difference in stats, but the other noticeable stat was that Stef averaged 2 more marks per game in his 110 years than Grundy last year. 3 More effective disposal should give 5-6 ppg more per game so assuming he improves Grundy should go around 100 ppg. Can also be considered that Grundy averaged 107 after the bye last year.

Not hearing a lot about Sauce Jacobs, only on my phone at the moment, but my impressions after watching him are that he would probably benefit from the new ruck rule? yeah/nah?

Brendan Lade proposing Ryder and Dixon and Trengove all ruck for Port.

Interesting

Mite help Dixon at least see the footy

Watched him keenly in this weekends JLT game - just doesn't seem his old self. I started with him in 2014 when he went from mid 80s to around 115. I credit my top 100 finish that season partly to starting with him as everyone was rubbishing him as a selection and he was a big POD - I'll always remember him fondly due to his performance that season, but I'm afraid he's past his SC best.

he doesn't score as well as he used to
it must be the non-existent hitouts to advantage, as well as the fact that CD hate him and score him like trash

also carried an injury throughout the preseason, stay away imo

Surely if North are serious about a rebuilt they pump games into Preuss
The kid is an absolute bull and has some talent, I'd be shocked if he didn't play at least 10 games this game

the rucks are difficult to assess with players potentially sharing the rucks etc apart from Gawn and goldy who's next best

Because he will be suspended for the remainder of the season.

All seriousness, if Goldy is even slightly underdone for Rd1, he will play.
