Since the Gawn of time, in the Sandilands of the Supercoach wasteland a new rule was made which would change the game of Supercoach for years to come...

That rule was to be known as the no third man up rule.

A delightful proposition for coaches who wanted a proven tap ruckman who averages like a SP midfielder,
but also craved a little value in the form of a hit out to advantage colossus who was heavily discounted after nursing his injuries and returning to the battlefield.

GAWNILANDS has been and will always be the ruck strategy sent from the Gods.

In a year of such ruck uncertainty, coaches flocked far and wide looking for anwsers when the one and only true anwser was the no third man up rule lovingly handed to us by our Supercoach overlords.
A recipe of +5's and the key to unlocking a teams ruck scoring potential but alas this was not a dream but happening in front of us in real life.

Months past and GAWNILANDS ownership faultered.
This upset the SC Gods greatly. So the Gods set apon putting coaches on the right path.
First they struck down Goldylocks, then the Mummy. Grundy was next and even through tears of laughter they decided to split the webbing on Witts hand.

But this wasn't enough and although GAWNILANDS ownership was increasing the word on BF was one of uncertainty and madness.
Witts at R2 they said. Goldy > Gawn.
Nankervis is the answer, he's played 11 games he must be sent by the Gods to rescue our teams.

This only upset the Gods further so they decided to test the resolve of only the best coaches.
They decided to scare the Witts out of everyone and gave Sandi a dose of old mans injury.

Some coaches jumped off, others looked for cover.
But still a few brave souls stayed on.
Supported by their massive stones and rock hard manhood they would go on to pave the way, the way that the Gods intended and those brave coaches they locked away GAWNILANDS and threw away the key.

The Supercoach Gods then sent a message to the masses, it was to be read out by all GAWNILANDS owners to the non believers.
It read...

May the Supercoach Gods have mercy on your soul if you don't start with these two manly specimens and may you and your teams forever rest in peace.
We have given you the key to the 50k.
Use it swiftly and destroy it or we will send our vengeance apon your team and all that dare rebel against us.
Lolz, well done was imagining this when reading....

Its not really advantage if they're better options. It might be worth it as a hail mary to try and make up points late in the year, but Picking a POD just for the sake of it will end up putting you behind in the long run.

I think Gawn is a good VC candidate becuase he has shown that he is capable of going 150+ pretty regularly, but the only chances you'll get to do this early on if you have Strnadica is rounds 1 and 3.

Just wondering for anyone considering the nank/sandi combo with witts as cover, are you better off just putting nank into your forward line and starting witts over a rookie fwd with little js or scoring potential vs what you'd get from witts on the ground?

I recognise this from chapter 1, verse 2 in the holy Book Of Gawn. I was once a follower of these teachings but I have since strayed and discovered a new life after Gawnilands. It is too late for redemption as I have discovered a new path to follow - Stefantology.

You play a risky game. The SC Gods like a risk taker but maybe the safer risk is on the mids on a fallen premo like Beans or Swallow.

****in with the SC Gods gift of GAWNILANDS is fretting with danger. The potential to be burnt is higher here.
Archie Smith (not a SC God) says hi.

The SC Gods may be generous but they can also be cruel, ever so cruel, as seasoned SC campaigners know oh so well. They can giveth as much as they taketh away. Beware the diSpencer of doom.

Yep, I'm doing something like this (at the moment anyway)

SandiWitts on the field with Ryder and/or Nankervis in the FWD

Last twin towers didn't work out so well.

Sandi is old. Really old. He missed almost all of last year. He has old man disease. He is a fallen premo, but at some stage he will break or be rested. He is very tempting but I am trying to resist.

Ryder isn't quite a proven premium. He misses games and he struggles to put together a complete premium year. Also, Kenny loves Lobbe. He's going to play some matches this year.

I spruiked Port trading for Steele all of last year when most people said he was a spud. I'm not picking a borderline best 22 player at that price. Must ignore pre season numbers.

Nank was fourth ruck for Sydney. I spruiked Port trading for Nank. He's played stuff all games.

I had all of these players in my side a couple of days ago. Now I have lynch (gold coast), grundy and Toby Greene. (I can't stand Toby greene)

Steele borderline best 22

Did i read that correctly?

Ruck rook, with 35 JLT average though.

"With No.1 big man Jordan Roughead sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Tom Campbell battling an ankle complaint, coach Luke Beveridge recently declared the 19-year-old was in the frame to make his debut against the Magpies."

Didn't get any TOG in his second game that 35 average is skewed. He scored 70 rucking against Stef.

Don't think I could touch him though.

If he's named in R1 I am happy to put him on the bench.

Currently have Steffilands as my rucks but no cover. I believe my $$$ have been spent wisely elsewhere.
