I lost almost 100 points when I picked the "safe" 130 from Rockliff a few hours before that arse faced ******* Dangerfield scored 229.

Your fault for betting against Danger :D

So we shouldn't take Gawn because he doesn't play interstate until round 8, so during rounds 1-7 he's going to score poorly
I know he's stating a fact, but I do not believe that Gawn simply performs better when he travels

No, just think it's worth some consideration instead of being completely written off as a coincidence.

A lot of people are picking Riewoldt on the basis that he scores well at Etihad.

Given how many games Nroo has played at Etihad vs Gawns career away games, Nroo' is a more accurate guide.

Still, Gawns record both h&a is outstanding.

How much of an impact do we think Gawn sharing the ruck duties will have on his scoring?

Not sure whether to start with Gawn or drop him down to a Nankervis of Sandi
And get an extra premo in my midfield

For those thinking of starting Nicholls from GC (or Witts)
Tom Nic played NEAFL on weekend
Played very well apparently
Kicked 2 goals
Took multiple contested marks
And generally looked impressive according to the GC followers.

Witts has spinchter tightening release surgery booked for Thursday

I think it's more that CD KOTD because he's important to Melbourne getting the 4 points.

It's NEAFL. His side won by 100+ points.

If Gawn is sharing ruck duties he'll struggle to score 100 every week. But personally I'd wait until teams announced Thursday as I'm expecting Gawn to go solo with Watts backing up.

Its his spot to lose and I think he'll do well this year and play most games, he's still in my side ATM....... ATM
Rucks giving me headaches... everytime I put Gawn or Goldy in I have to completely reshuffle my team. I think this year is the year to go for value considering the lack of rookies. Scares me to start without Gawn because he could explode for 170 in R1.

He will explode for 170 in an early game, and everyone will quickly jump on. You have to hope that he then dips a little bit. If Spencer isn't named round one, Gawn will find himself in a shitload more teams.

Is anyone considering Dawson, would he get a run ahead of Downie at GWS? He wasn't too bad at Geelong, but wasn't going to take the number one spot off Smith, and we have plenty of back up options.

He plays Carltank in rnd 2 and could score 150 plus in that game.

I think if Spencer isn't named, it will be very hard for me not to reshuffle my team to fit in the great man, but it just means having Gawn + unreliable rook instead of Ryder in F4 and Nank in R1, which makes me nervous.

And isn't Mumford fit? Therefore Dawson would be second string Ruckman and be lucky to avg 70.

I would take 70 from Dawson to be honest, when was the last time you started the year with a ruck bench averaging 70.

Downie has been put on the long term injury list for mental health issues, not much details about it so don't know what the case is there

Gotta be good for Dawson prospects then.

Mumford may require some help, hard to see him going 2 years in a row without going down at some point, and GWS must have brought Dawson in for a reason.

If Mummy gets going, Lobb will probably suffice as back up, but Dawson could prove a solid choice to give Mummy a break.
