Sounds like a decent strategy, might do that myselfRyder will definitely end up in my forward line. He will make a solid F6. Having him at R2 at the start gives me the flexibility to wait & see before bringing in the R2. Eg. If Jacobs/Mummy/someone unexpected becomes the clear R1 or R2, I'll be able to upgrade a forward rookie and bring them in while moving Ryder to F6.
I'm backing Gawn to average over 125 in 2017.

Gawn, Sandi & Ryder ftwAm I mad for considering having Witts at R2 with Gawn R1, with old mate from Freo on the bench with Ryder cover?
Upgrade Witts later on, or should I continue with my annual rule of pick and forget?

but is 120k worth an extra trade? especially in the rucksIf he can make me 120k I am happy.
If witts was clear #1 then no worries but what about Nicholls? If he can make me 120k I am happy.

I'll most probably go Gawn + Goldy, but there's a lot of temptation in the rucks this year
Gawn + Ryder (ruck/fwd donut) will also be tempting; can see who is the performing ruck and bring them in, swinging Ryder forward
Say that to the poor souls who started with a Martin or Jacobs last season, think NicNat & Minson had some big falls a few years back as well. So I certainly don't think it should be a set rule.should be annual rule of set and forget. too much uncertainty around Witts role and scoring ability

Witts was known as Mr F by some pies supporters
For good reason
He's a spud
I read on the trade board back in October that he was worth a first rd pick.
I've ditched him and decided to go with Gawnstein again. I don't think Sandi will be any more than a handy upgrade optionJust exercised the thought of starting with Sandi
If you start with him, you need to start Ryder in your forward line, because if Sandi goes down early, your better off bringing in a ~$400k fwd than a ~$300k ruck
He just turned 34, he's old
Hmmm
