I had sauce last year (traded to gawn) didnt find out till after rd six sauce had little to no preseason.
If he is fit he can score quiet well and is normally durable.
I hadn't really considered Jacobs. But he's tempting at the price. Dropped 22 points last year and almost 30 from a few years ago. Still good enough to get over 100 average again easily.

Depends on Archie Smith

I think Archie might start getting force fed games given his performance last year, Stef and his relative ages and the overall team's age. Not touching Stef as a result.

The only Lions I've got ATM is Beams/McCluggage

Do you reckon Berry/Cox will get games early?

Berry's a chance and Cox doesn't seem likely, but there's really no way to tell at this stage.

Reckon stef could really hit the ground running... first 8 rounds he has Nicholls, Bellchambers, Hickey, Nankervis, Campbell, Ryder, Tippett and McEvoy. That's some start!

He'll lose the hitouts too
Witts (Nicholls)
Bellchambers
Hickey
for sue
Ryder 50/50
Tippett 50/50

As a ruck Stefs points come from possessions imo

surely he has a good chance of racking up possessions against Gold Coast, Essendon and st kilda

Not sure of his history against those 3 sides

I'd bet they'll lose all 3 games tho

Intersting

Any idea who he rucked against? And did the lions have a 2nd ruck playing (if they did it makes him very attractive)

With the Brisbane Lions Stef has a:

108.4 average if rucking solo.

94.2 average if rucking with someone, though most of that is from averaging 110.8 in 2015 when "sharing" with Leuenberger where Leuey was being played as a stay at home forward for almost all the game. If you ignore that stint his average when actually sharing ruck time is 77.6.

The one game that Smith and Stef both played, Stef scored 70. When Smith didn't play the next two games, Stef scored 111 and 98.

Any word on how long Archie will be out for after the sting ray got his foot? Interrupted pre season at the least.

Archie was saying "a couple of weeks", which is about right if it's a clean cut with nothing severed. So slightly interrupted preseason, but should be fine before the preseason games.

I had a look at that game Archie and stef played together against Carlton for a score of 70. Stef had 25 HO to Archie's 8. But it was his number of possessions (9) that was oddly low that affected his scoring.

Haven't decided on R1 yet but leaning toward grundy or stef. R2 will be nankervis with Ryder AND Bellchambers playing at f3 & f5. A rookie r/f in r3.

I'm not sold on Gawn at that price but will probably get him in when he dips. Goldy for all the reasons mentioned already doesn't seem great either. Ryder seems solid as a long term fwd player and I think nankervis and Bellchambers are way under priced. Probably not keepers but great stepping stones at least.

Ive been set and forget most years so should be an interesting ride.
