Keep sticking Stef in my team. Just looks so good to have a top tier ruck and pocket $100k.
Gonna be a long two months.

Currently have Gawn and Hickey as my rucks - I think he's looking exceptional value, will be watching closely through pre season.any love for Tom Hickey?
What alternative do they have but to throw them in the contest though?

Is Ryder a must if you take Sandi?
I believe the answer is yes. If Sandi goes down in the first few rounds and you're only option is to trade, you're in trouble.
Having Ryder in the forward line allows you to go:
Sandilands TO <forward mid-pricer who started well> OR <forward rookie> (swing Ryder to R2)
Thoughts?

As someone who had Bellchambers as cover a couple of years ago under similar circumstances - not really. It's not unreasonable for someone to consider Sandilands worth keeping but not Ryder because they expect Ryder to average 70-80. If they prove to be right then starting Ryder every week in the ruck will see you hemorrhaging points as well and you'd be better off biting the bullet and bringing in a ruck premium at the price of a rookie downgrade.
Ryder is a lot better than Bellchambers will ever be when it comes to supercoach scoring. Also who expects Ryder to average in the 70s?

I think you're focusing on the minutiae rather than the point. The point is still the same though - if everyone thought Ryder was going to average 95+, everyone would be starting him at his price and position. Not everyone's starting him, therefore some expect him to average less than that. Would you be happy with a starting ruck averaging 85-90 (using Ryder's actual scores in five out of his last seven years)? I know I wouldn't, and would be trading to get in a real premium.
Fwiw, if Ryder goes on to average 90 or more across the season at his price at F6, plays 20+ games, provides cover for my ruck - I will be very happy as an investment return.
Agreed mate, I see him somewhere in the low 90s - happy with a flat 90 return tbh, with that effectively making him a top 10 FWD for the year.I wouldn't be happy with someone averaging 90 like that, but it's splitting hairs - I'm picking him because I expect him to average at least 95.![]()
not a must have...just the smart move for cover.Today's discussion topic...

out for the year or 99% of it.When is Ceglar expected to be back?
what if the Heeney or Touk guys are performing?...wasted trades!Absolutely not
If he goes down for a week then trade in a ruck forward.
Eg: drop a heeney or Touk or Chad for a Ryder / Nankervis

Three in four coaches, apparentlyIs there anyone not putting Ryder in their fwd line this year?
Four in five coaches, apparentlyand having that ruck/fwd rookie from Freo as their emergency ruckman?
Ryder is the player I'm most looking forward to seeing how they do in SC this year and as a player in general as I've always rated him.
